I have a friend whom I have known for a very long time. Me and her have had very close talks and had helped each other throw many hard times. Spontaneously one day I asked her if she thought I was going to go to hell. With some hesitation she responded, "yes, you do not believe in Jesus Christ, so you will go to hell".

I was rather taken back. Hell as depicted in scripture is a very horrible place. Full of fire and pain it's an outright nightmare. Yet this "friend" of mine was certain that I would end up in this miserable place simply because I had not let "Jesus Christ into my heart".

How can Christians so cold-heartedly believe that good, honest people should go to hell simply because they do not believe in Christianity?

Many things in my life are beyond my control right now and I just need answers. I have not prayed in a while (I am not a really religous person), but I feel the need to do so. It may sound silly, but I feel guilty almost because I have not prayed in a while. I guess I feel as though I'm only praying because I "need" something (like fulfillment or answers). I just find comfort in feeling as though my prayers are being answered or at least 'listened' to. What should I think?

I am a sponge, I take in what is in the sea, and digest it, now I have a problem, why does your God, allow the larger fish in the sea, like the whales, to have sexual intercourse with other whales, and letting them let their "load" spill out, and not make the target! knowing ahead of time that what is in the ocean is what I eat! If your God says it is wrong to take in anything unclean and unholy, then why does your God let this horrible force of nature happen? Beside, seeing that I am a male, and if i'm eating a male whale's sperm, wouldn't that make me gay? Isn't that against your God's rule too??

I have recently become closer and closer to God. I have developed a great interest in learning to be a good christian and helping others become christians too.
Whats the best advice you can give as far as learning to reach people who are defiant unbelievers, like the ones who believe in 'science'?

Extreme Athiests: do you have Chrisitan friends?? Right

Funamental Christians: do you have athiest friends? Sure.

If we group people together it makes it more faceless, hate is much easier.

I bet alot of us would get along...if for example you saw me as David, not as Christian.

Agrees? Disagrees?

Bless you all
David

I don't want opinions or regurgetated information from Christians or Muslims. Please give me all of the references about the treatment of women both from the Bible and the Koran (hadiths as well).

A good researcher doesn't read one book (or quote) but many. Then he makes his final decision.

i am catholic and i was baptized early in my life. the problem is that i never got first communion. i go to church only like once a year for christmas eve and its very embarrasing when everyone goes up to get the bread and wine while i just sit there. i feel like now that i am grown, i am growing farther apart from God. i want to stay close to God and keep the lord by my side. so i have been thinking about getting a cross necklace, platinum with invisible set diamonds. is it ok for me to wear it? also, do a lot of people wear cross necklace when they arent even religous?

In the Hadith, it is said that Muhammad had many wives including Khadija, at one time, his Boss. But still he is said to have married Ayesha, a 9 years old girl who was more than 35 years younger than him. He is accused of being a child molester by the non-Muslims. What could be the truth? If he is not defensible, why the Muslims protect him and his past?

Mine is this one

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamed he was walking along
the beach with the Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene, he noticed
two sets of footprints in the sand,
one beloning to him and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the
very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life there is
only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most
you would leave me."
The Lord replied "My precious, precious child,
I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffereing,
when you see only one set of footprints in the sand,
it was then that I carried you."

Isaiah 45:7 - I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Joshua 23:15 - Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things.

Judges 9:23 - Then God sent an evil spirit

2 Samuel 12:11 - Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house

1 Kings 9:9 - ...therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

2 Kings 6:33 ...Behold, this evil is of the LORD;

Jeremiah 45:5 ...behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD:

Micah 1:12 .... evil came down from the LORD

This is just a sampling of the "evil" he creates and sends to his "children" that he "loves.

running into the street, everyone gasped. But when we talk about GOD THE FATHER letting his "children" or creation "burn in hell" for what they don't know, everyone is like "eh, who cares. free will. you choose, you loose." LOL!!! Are you people SERIOUS! Doesn't your god have more "LOVE" for you than your earthly parents?????

"Love God, God loves you, so Fear Him"? WHY?
Why would you worship and trust something you're afraid of? And why should you fear things you love?

People talk all the time about developing their "personal relationship" with God/Jesus, so what kind of relationship is that exactly? Sounds kinda twisted if you ask me.
