The research into gay parenting is new, however as a social worker let me tell you what the research is saying. This is from Psychology Today, "The ill effects felt by having two gay parents is not in the fact that a child is lacking a mother or a father, the ill effects are from how SOCIETY treats the child because he has gay parents. There is not one trait that a child needs to be a well adjusted adult that either gender is not able to provide." Children from racist or homophobic parents tend to breed children that are less educated, and more violent.

Assuming that there are no flaws comparable to beatings in t he gay parenting situation, of course a gay couple who didn't hit their kids would make better parents than a straight couple who would! Ask almost any mature, perceptive adult who's ever been abused by a parent! Beatings create psychological problems and can, in some cases, even kill the children. Even if you're stupid enough to think that there's anything wrong with being gay, do you think a little same-sex nookie between the parents is going to even touch on beatings as a form of psychological or physical damage...?

depends on where you are situated in the world. if you are in a country like the US, children need not be beaten to understand that something is wrong since the government does a great job apprehending kids for anything wrong like drugs, or alcohol or legal issues. However, if you are in a country like India, unless you beat your child for something wrong, he or she will never realize that it is wrong since being beaten by parents is like a standard over there for not doing something. Children are not exposed to seriously horrible videos of lung cancer or AIDS. Thus parents need to beat them.
As far as being straight or gay is concerned, I don't think it matters as long as you follow tradition as a parent. Once tradition stops, changes take place that confuses children and thus forces them into something that might be either harmful or beneficial to them. Its just that unnecassary risk is involved when you try to change tradition. So if parents have been beating children, parents should keep beating children. If not, they shouldn't. Imagine what would happen in the US if a parent beat his teenage child for having unprotected sex. The dad's *** would be in jail the next day!! lol, jk, but you get the point.

Gay couple. Although, I am non-religious, naturally(as in referring to human nature), I am still a little perplexed about homosexuality and children.
But I am just as equally perplexed concerning why so many people who seemingly don't like children, insist on plaguing the world by reproducing.

With ur question, the gay parents of course. However, the verdict is still out on gay parents for me. I have heard of some kids who come out fine but I know some that have a hard time dealing w/ people knowing that they are raised by gay parents. Then again if u choose that lifestyle (which is fine-I dont care what other people do) it seems to me that you choose not to become parents bcuz it is hard to make a baby w/ two males. it doesnt really work. I dont know.......

ANY parents, straight or gay, who beat their children are NOT fit to be parents at all.
In the case you stated, obviously, the gay parents would be the better choice.

the gay couple who don't...who would say otherwise! I think straight parents are no worse or better than gay parents. They're both people afterall. Thanks for bringing this up. I agree with you.

I think if we have a license to drive a car we should have to have a license to have a kid. Being a parent shouldn't be a right. There should be minimum standards for being a parent such as not being a hardened violent felon. Maybe we could stop jerks from having babies that are only future criminals. They shouldn't let just any SOB be a dad.
