when the concept is so repugnant in Judaism and amongst Jews?

Most Christians believe that God is one eternal being who exists as three distinct, eternal, and indivisible persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ the eternal Word), and the Holy Spirit.

I went to a Christian school in Pre-K through the 8th grade.

In the 2nd grade, my now step-mother came into the picture. She wanted me to be taken out of that school, so that I may come up with my opinions by myself, and not to have it shoved down my throat.

Well, she went to go talk to my teacher about how she felt.
What was my teacher's response?
"Oh don't worry, by the time she is in high school, she'll be brainwashed anyway."

That comment really bugs me, is that the way that Christians are? Brain-washing their children into believing everything that the bible says so that they don't know anybetter?

I'm thinking about going to talk to her about it, but I'm still really close with everybody from that school (I'm a freshman now), and I don't want them to all be mad at me. What should I do?

okay, I asked the question did the vatican institustion seperate itself from the Catholic church by signing the documents of Vatican ll.
I gratefully acknowledge the answers received, perhaps my question was too vague so, Vatican ll was called as a pastoral council which would define no dogma but would interpret Catholiscism in the light of the modern era.
I cannot give a lot of examples here as it would take up to much space but let me site the example of Atheistic communism.
All the Popes from Leo Xlll to Pius Xll have condemned this with Papal bulls and pronounced it Anathema, and this is an everlasting pronunciation of Papal authority, and unchangeable, and yet Pope John XXlll authorized the infamous Metz agreement which promised not to mention Communism at His forthcoming council against the wishes of the majority of the assembled Bishops and signed the decree to accord with the representatives of Atheistic communism.
did this not in fact, go against those previous Popes

are there anymore prayer books similar for kids? this one is prayers to say for others, prayers for mealtimes, prayers for sickness, all in a child's words. i'm a selfish prayer and don't really know words to use when praying for others and problems in everyday life. i'm in need of teaching my children the "correct way to pray", i know there is no truly correct way to pray, but i want them to be able to pray effectively and learn to communicate with God and not just ask wants. any books out there like that?

When looking at the Christian Heaven I am confronted with visions of pearly gates, streets of gold, angels, prime real estate, and a stair case with God at the top. And the Christians will arrive and praise him for all eternity.

Sorry but I think I might be happy for about two hours before I looked around and said "This is it! I'm bored already and have to do this for all eternity?!"

The Islam paradise, full of sex, women, and booze, seems more like something I would like to do for eternity. I can kind of see why the fanatics are so apt to blow themsleves up for Allah.

So what is heaven and why do you subscribe to you doctrinal vision.

NOTE: When I was still a believe-whatever I used to struggle with this idea. Now as an atheist I find it comical. This is not meant to be offensive I am merely curious. And if you find yourself offended... get over it.

For those who practice magick, I ask that you forgive my ignorance. But have you ever heard or experienced if teleportation is possible with a spell? Even if it is only very powerful or high ranking witches who have been able to do it...has it been documented that it can be done? Thank you.

I can understand why people think everything in existance needs to be created, therefore needs to have a creator. But why do people think that this 'creator' is god. (i.e. is an all powerful, all knowing superior being).

Many philosophers over the years have theorised there are multiple creators. They are not all powerful but instead are like craftsmen. They created this world as well as other worlds like ours but better (think of them as better newer versions of the same idea).

So why do you think the creator(s) is god?

other such stores is just so the majority of people will feel more comfortable shopping in that store. So therefor it will make that store alot more cash around Christmas time?

What do you think the CEO's of these large department stores think more about around Christmas time? Is there more news on how the sales of a specific large corp went down this year? Or more news on how they are taking public donations for charities around Christmas?

What do the colors (three purple and one pink) candles on the Christian Advent wreath mean? What about the candles on the Manorah? Or for Kwanza? And if special candles are lit for Ramadan, what do they mean? I am curious as to the meaning of lighting candles for these different holidays.
