God is all powerful. He doesn't need your money. He has other ways of doing things. Money was created by humans. Only humans (like a church leader...or any other human for that matter) can actually use the money.

It's kind of like the common phrase "Money can't buy happiness". Make sense?

First of all its not "your" money its his just like everything else in this world. Second of all he does not need his money, his people needs his money so that they can operate (pay utilities, help the community, etc). Resources are required to do things in this world and that's how God made it so, money is simply a counter that represents other resources.

He doesn't. Tithes go to support the institutional churches. Traditionally the Jewish tribes would give ten percent of their money to the tribe of Levi, which were the priests of the land since they did not have their own flocks and such to provide an income. So really you're just paying for upkeep on the church and the minister's salary.

God does not need money.
Only those claiming to represent Him AND doing a poor job of it ask for money.

if God is God
God is all powerful
God is all knowing
God is ominiscient,omnipotent,omnipresent... (you get the picture)

so God does NOT need your money.

God does know what is "good" for you & what is "not good" for you... Scriptures say that the love of money (not money per se) is the root of evil (or your downfall).... giving rise to greed, pride, envy, covetousness, etc. etc.

Man begins to be "tamed", "tempered", "saved from destruction"... when they are taught & practice giving (or through offerings/tithing) as they are not trapped into loving his money/possessions...

But what do we know, if we are mere man, creations of God... then God should know more than we do (even if we think we know more)
