are there anymore prayer books similar for kids? this one is prayers to say for others, prayers for mealtimes, prayers for sickness, all in a child's words. i'm a selfish prayer and don't really know words to use when praying for others and problems in everyday life. i'm in need of teaching my children the "correct way to pray", i know there is no truly correct way to pray, but i want them to be able to pray effectively and learn to communicate with God and not just ask wants. any books out there like that?

I don't have the name of a book but have an excellent teaching on that subject based on Matthew 6:8-13 (the Lord's prayer). In it, Jesus teaches us how we are to pray.

I am a youth pastor, and I have a teaching that makes the instructions understandable for kids and adults alike!

It's in microsoft word, I can email it to you if you'd like. Also has a little bookmark reminder for how we are to pray that you can print and put in their book or bible.

I know the books you speak of. I have some. One is Prayers that Avail Much and one is Armed and Dangerous.

But as for teaching the kids, the best thing is to tell them they can have a relationship with Jesus just like they do with you. He is closer than a friend or brother. You may not be able to see Him but he is there and will answer them. Remind them that when they ask you for something you give it... if it is good for them. God is even better at giving them what they need and hears their needs better than you do. So just talk to Him in prayer like they talk to you when they want something. You should look up some promisses of God and give them a print out if you are wanting them to have something to stand on. Like kids do with you, they can say "hey God remember when you said you would..."
Here is a great site for that.

That is good you got that book! I have taught my children to always pray for family and anyone who is sick. They always pray for the salvation of my grandpa- and then I have told them to always pray for a wise mind. And that the Lord would help them to obey Him and do what He asks of them. I pray certain scriptures over them when I pray with them- Such as the verse in Psalms- I say to Instruct them in the way they should go and counsel them with your eye upon them- I love that verse. I also have Jeremiah 29:11 Over their beds. I want my children to glorify God and know that it is all about Him and not them- so just stick to that and teach them to put others before themselves and to pray for wisdom from God and that they would grow to Love Him and fear Him and do what is right in His eyes.....I hope that helps!!

I'm not sure exacly where in the bible this comes from, but it is written that we don't know how to pray and what to pray for, so the holy spirit wil entervene for us with moans and groans. Don't be to stressed about it, if you ask God, he will help you to pray.

Have you ever read Matthew 6:7?
Doesn't that speak against prayer books?

Love, from the bottom of my heart, I tell you: the best thing you can do for your kids is to keep them as far away as possible from religion, any religion, and wait until they become mature enough to decide for themselves whether they wish to join any particular one or not. Kids already lack the choice of whether they should be born or not, one of life's great practical jokes. The last thing they need is early-childhood brainwashing, taking away that other option of whether they want religion in their life or not.
