There is only one true God and his name is Jehovah, Jesus Christ is his Son, the first born of all creation, who resided in heaven with his Father before coming to earth, he lowered himself to become a perfect human to pay the ransom needed to redeem fallen mankind, the Holy Spirit is the active force of God, his power that he uses to accomplish his will. Yes, most of the ones calling themselves Christians believe that God is made up of three persons but this is not so, do not the Scriptures say that wide and spacious is the road leading off into destruction and many are following it, whereas, the road leading to eternal life is narrow and cramped and few find it? The Bible encourages you to draw close to God and He will draw close to you. How can you draw close to a God who is considered a mystery and you can't understand? Doesn't make sense does it?

It's been a while since I explained this concept. So here goes again.

The Father is God he is all the God that there is. The Son (Jesus) is God He is all the God there is. The Holy Spirit is God and again all the God that there is. This is best understood by the mortal mind by looking at Creation. God has reveled Himself to us there as well as in the Bible.
The dimension of space are height, width and breadth. Each of these dimensions is infinite and by that definition each contains all space. Yet these dimension make up one space.

God is like that each is God all the God that can be because He is infinite yet these three are the One true God... Jim

The most effective way that I have heard it explained to me is the 3 dimensional metaphor.
God is like a cube....Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Father could be length, Son width and Holy Spirit depth. All three are seperate and sort of "share" the same space but are 3 distinct aspects of the one cube. That's how I look at it. I don't think the trinity is something we can fully comprehend but we can apprehend it from scripture.

THE DEITY consists of GOD, THE FATHER, JESUS CHRIST THE SON, and THE HOLY GHOST - HOLY SPIRIT. THE DEITY was explained this way to me: your dad is separate from your mom and you. your mom is separate from your dad and you. you are separate from your dad and mom. yet all three of you are connected by family ties which can never be broken in any manner whatsoever. realize this explanation will not satisfy many but it works for me.

It means:

ONE GOD, eternal, holy, righteous, just, ...
ONE GOD Who has revealed that He eternally exists as three co-equal "Persons": Father, Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

... that's not what i believe... God the father, Jesus the son and the Holy Ghost, a spirit, are very separate... they are one in purpose and not the same being.

I know it is hard to understand. God is the Father, Son and Holy spirit, just as He tells us to be baptized in that name. There are many scriptures pertaining to God being Jesus- and the Holy Spirit is Him-- for He is all Spirit.

Check out this website- It has many scripture references and explains it- I hope it helps! http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/jesusgd2.htm
