What does this Hadith mean? Who can explain? It certainly goes against our commonsense.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 6, Number 315
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet said, "At every womb Allah appoints an angel who says, 'O Lord! A drop of semen, O Lord! A clot. O Lord! A little lump of flesh." Then if Allah wishes (to complete) its creation, the angel asks, (O Lord!) Will it be a male or female, a wretched or a blessed, and how much will his provision be? And what will his age be?' So all that is written while the child is still in the mother's womb."

This hadith resembles to a joke. Just the thought of this little angel that gets in there and stands in front of the womb each time a man become intimate with his wife watching the whole act and supplicating Allah for a drop of semen right on his face, is hilarious.

Is there a certain time of day that you pray? Do you read over any passages? I pray before I go to sleep. I light a candle, read through some things I received at a spiritual retreat, then pray to God. What about you?

I just really don't get why ppl misinterpret muslims? They just watch the media and see IGNORANT extremists who kill innocent ppl and use islam as an excuse so muslims can have more enemies. I am a muslim myself and hate terrorists and most of don't consider these ppl muslims since they do things no human with an actual brain does. No we are not terrorists, and no we are not uncivilized, and no our fathers n brothers don't force us to stay home and force us to wear scarfs on our heads ( there are some who force their daughters to wear but that is wrong). I don't wear a scarf (hijab) myself and i go to univeristy and shop here and there and yes I'M STILL ALIVE :/!! I even have non-muslim friends why didn't I kill them?? To all of you who think we are crazy people, stop talking crap. Cuz we follow the REAL qur'an (WHICH DOESN'T TELL US TO KILL!!) and we BELIEVE it cuz its LOGICAL. Not like most ppl who follow Bush as if they were his own pets.

America is deadlocked in a battle over her founding principles. Will we give up them up, or remain faithful?

Personally, I'm on the side of preserving our founding principles of SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE and Religious Freedom. So I guess in this area, I am a Liberal. Thomas Paine, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and our other founding fathers worked hard to ensure that every citezin would feel welcome in the United States, regardless of religion. The fact that our government was hijacked by Christianity during the second Great Awakening doesn't change that history. Now, however, atheists, Deists, Muslims, and to a lesser degree, Jews, Buddists, Christian minority sects (often called "cults") often feel unwelcome in this country because of their religion (or in the case of Atheists and some Deists, lack of religion). This points to the fact that the Evangelical and Fundamentalist Christians are winning.

So, which side are you on?

I can't speak for the rest of the world, but according to the U.S. Census Bureau the Christian population in the United States has fallen from 88.3% in 1990 to 79.8% in 2001... also the number of athiests/agnostics has risen from 8.4% to 15% in the same time frame. Where are you people getting your information? Sunday school?

Biblically it's understood that nobody can predict when the end will come upon us. So wouldn't it make sense that since every year some nut predicts the end times, rapture or whatver god might push it back because he doesn't want it to be predicted?

Why should I respect someone who does not respect my beliefs? This is open to everyone. I have seen it asked here, and off line, for me to be respectful for someone's beliefs when they have just insulted mine. So, why should I? Why should I extend a courtasy that will not be returned?

Should I do this if I am Muslim? Christian? Pagan? Wiccan? Atheist? Or should I disrespect anyone who does not respect me?

Wouldn't it be better if we all respected each other? We may not agree with each other's beliefs, but if we want respect, we should give it instead of going, "but doesn't respect me". Someone has to stand up first. Will it be you?

Personally, my holidays will be chock full of drinking, gambling, singing, and public nudity just like they used to do during saturnalia (which, as we all know, is the pagan holiday that gave birth to christmas). Oh, also I will be partaking in various forms of consumerism in the name of the lord and some idolatry towards santa (I'm going to place my sugar filled boots near the chimney so the pagan god Odin's horse can eat it, and he'll reward me with candy)

Okay, why are creationists willing to give the bible the benefit of the doubt when it doesn't say anything about dinosaurs but they won't extend the same courtesy to evolution for gaps in the fossil record? Gaps which get filled often, i.e. horse teeth? Whale skulls?
