Is all the politicking destroying real faith spirituality and turning religion into nothing more than a drawn out political campaign ?

I'm also referring to the religious lobbying of Government by evangelicals as well as other religious zealots using various threats and not very covert blackmail tactics.

Here in America, I believe that the big evangelists are in it for the millions that they bleed out of the suckers.
In the Near-East the mullahs are suckering the people into helping them get political power.
Yes, of course it's different from the time of driving to the little brown church in the wildwood.
Big money, Great power, and pease of mind don't go together.

This might be a 'Doh!' question. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. So it is said. One who seeks office for personal gain and power, then are blind. Christianity says the first, here...will be the last there. So, if they don't care or believe they will be last...maybe they don't care or really believe in what they preach

Two kinds of religion: impure & pure.
Impure religion: Law (is insufficient).
Pure religion: "Grace is sufficient".

Pure religion paid a "visit" (not a ransom).
It arrived undefiled & remained unspotted,
in it's come & go visitation to the "afflicted".
James 1:27 (Holy Bible; New Testament)

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
