I just found out that my application I had worked for months on was considered incomplete because one of my professors turned in his recommendation letter late. He had more than a month to do it and still it was late. He told me not to worry and that he would go in front of the committee if he had to. Guess he thought he had some leverage.... anyway, now my app is dead (until at least fall of 2007) thanks to his irresponsible behavior.
I believe there's a reason for everything. Do you? Maybe there is a reason behind all this that I am unaware of - that only God knows about..... what do you think?

Every response has lots of thumbs up/down on it. But, people seem to be thumbing up/down on each response based on whether they agree with it.

Don't you think it would be better to vote up or down on a response based on how articulate it is in responding to the question? What do you think?

Which religions can easily be proved false? Attempt #2 (I got 2 good response first try)

From an objective standpoint, which religions can be proved false. Could anyone who responds not give one line answers.

Example response:
1. Norse Mythology: There was a world serpent that was wrapped around the Earth several times that Thor would fish for with an Ox's head.

From all of the submarines, and boats in the world it seems unlikely that such a massive beast would go unnoticed.

2. Greek Mythology: Gods lived in a palace on Mount Olympus built by Hephaestus with large walls around the palace.

There is no palace on top of Mount Olympus.

3. Scientology:
- costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to learn advanced doctrines.
- Xenu used trillions of Douglas DC-7s?
- Xenu brought Trillions of frozen aliens to Earth just to kill them

In my textbook is says "no", but it's also a chapter on *early* Judaism so I'm just wondering if it's still like this.

The Bible can't give evidence for itself, since it is the work in question. (I'd let you use the Qu'ran or Talmut though)

Better logical answers?

Assume the God we are talking about is an Allmighty Father

I have read plenty of questions from people who despise Christians, not because of personal experience, but because of a Christian stereotype, or just plain arrogance. I mean, they think they're all that, but really, they're not. There are also others that despise people of any religion.
But why must we hate? We can keep our beliefs to ourselves and stop assuming a Christian stereotype is true.
What are your opinions?
P.S. Did you know when you assume, you make an a-s-s out of me and an a-s-s out of you? A$$-U-ME.

When bad things happen, people make exuses for God and blame most bad things on Satan or even human free will. If someone had a mean dog that chewed up the neighbor kid, wouldn't the owner of the dog be held responsible? Now aren't all humans and even Satan just God's dogs? Even if we chew up eachother, it's a bad thing, so why don't we hold God accountable for creating all of the creatures and creating this situation where the creatures suffer?
