Good question... Actually you can, and i think you should if you think he is real. Some people will probably reference the story of Job in response to this, however most who read Job don't realize that god is behind the entire thing. It's a bet with Satan... He sets Job up as a mark in JOB 2:3 and authorizes Satan do do whatever he wishes (including murder [JOB 1:14-19) to prove his point (JOB 2:6).
You can also see that god is the creator of all evil, he says it flat out in the bible (Isaiah 45:7).
If you believe god is real and you believe that the bible is the inerrant word of god then you must blame god for evil, for he is to blame.

Probably because of free will. If humankind was given the gift of free will then with that freedom comes responsibility, and this means responsibility for your own actions. To blame Satan would be so convenient as it would remove accountability and downplay God's creation of man.
The above said, I am not Christian but that's how I would make sense of it

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
Love and blessings

*IF* there change right into a god then he might want to be responsible for all of it cos he positioned all of it into play. None persons ever had a say in it... 'God': you'll play my recreation even if you wish it or no longer. W C Easttom: God says, do what you want, yet make the incorrect determination and also you'll be tortured for eternity in hell. That sir, isn't loose will. it would want to be equivalent to a guy telling his girlfriend, do what you want, yet in case you opt for to leave me, i visit music you down and blow your brains out. at the same time as a guy says this we call him a psychopath and cry out for his gaoling or demise. at the same time as god says the same we call him 'loving' and construct church homes in his honour. ~

God is NOT held accountable because he did not do the things Satan did.
Satan had pride and murder in his heart. God did not force that upon therefore, Satan is held accountable because SATAN DECIDED TO FOLLOW THAT PATH.
Angels do have free-will, look what happened to one third of God's Army, they followed Satan and now are called demons. What makes them different from us(not only that mankind is created in God's image) is that we have a plan of redemption/salvation(Jesus Christ), the angels and demons ARE NOT offered salvation or redemption because they were created PERFECT in Heaven and know God and Jesus personally.
Why would God be held accountable for Satan's actions?? Yes, God did create them, but he also gave them a free-will. We are not robots programmed by God to do His will and to love Him. He gives us that choice, either to follow or accept Him. In Satan's case it was either to serve God and mankind or to condemned for eternity.
You know the story, SATAN'S JUDGEMENT IS COMING, Its right there in Revelations and John saw Satan be thrown into the Lake of Fire. God is patient and long-suffering
is God responsible for the lazy fat people who complain about their weight, but yet they do nothing about it? NO, the person is responsible for making themselves fat by being lazy and having no self-control. Is God responsible for the millions of starving people? NO, ITS GREED AND LUST FOR POWER THAT CONTROLS GOVERNMENTS WHO HOLD FOOD FROM NATIONS, and the thing about it is.......THERE IS ENOUGH FOOD IN THIS WORLD TO FEED EVERY SINGLE PERSON.

Because the only reason something bad happens to us because of a consequence of something we have done really bad earlier... We deserved whatever bad happened to us. Our Father God is just trying to punish us for what we've done wrong. Our Father God is never accountable for anything.. Think of it this way... What if someone is REALLY bad? And there was no Satan? Would dear God really take us? There needs to be someone around if God can't take us for our bad actions.
I love God, God is everything to me. He is my life, my faith, my everything.

So what's the alternative? Creating an army of mind-numbed robots? What good would that do for Him? He desires FRIENDS, not automatons.
