I have read plenty of questions from people who despise Christians, not because of personal experience, but because of a Christian stereotype, or just plain arrogance. I mean, they think they're all that, but really, they're not. There are also others that despise people of any religion.
But why must we hate? We can keep our beliefs to ourselves and stop assuming a Christian stereotype is true.
What are your opinions?
P.S. Did you know when you assume, you make an a-s-s out of me and an a-s-s out of you? A$$-U-ME.

Notice I didn't say all people of other beliefs.... or all Christians, so yes, the converse is also true.

Also, since we, as Christians, have morals (I'm not saying that other religions do, but this is what I know); shouldn't we be setting the example?

Well, Jacob (or whatever):
I do respect your beliefs, therefore you should respect mine. As for getting married, there are churches who do that sort of thing (like in Massachusetts).

My ignorance? If you believe I am ignorant, fine, but that's a can of worms you probably won't want to open. Know why? I think you are ignorant. I think every one of us is ignorant. But calling someone ignorant is just the same if you call someone retarded: You are retarded aka ignorant if you call someone else retarded aka ignorant.

This is exactly right. I guarantee there will be someone who will attempt to degrade this question area because of the "stereotype" that is where we as people go wrong. yes I am talking to those of you who don't believe in a God and also to those who do believe there is. It's the biggest problem because one or a few people set standards in our minds. It sucks but we're human and there's nothin we can do about it if we don't WANT to.

Just as there is good in all cultures, races and religions, there is also bigotry and hatred in the same. It's just a part of life. No one particular religion can lay claim to being 100% holy; there are bad apples everywhere. I think that evil exists in order for us to overcome it, and the act of overcoming evil allows us the ability to show our good side, that we in fact WANT to overcome it. And I think that the rotten people exist so that we see the difference between good and evil, and so that we can appreciate the good people even more.

Check the mirror and get back to me, would ya??

How do you know I dont depise you due to personal experience? You are incorrect - daily, I receive messages from your kind, infomring me of the grevious decision I have made and the eternal torment awaiting me... And here you stand telling me that I shouldnt feel this way??

Whatever. Typical hypocrite. Tell me I assume too much - and then you turn around and assume something.

You're right.
Even Christians though do the same thing with other people's religions. We too are guilty of bigotry and hatred sometimes too. Both parties have to correct this behavior.

I am gay, my partner and I have been together 32 years. We cannot marry because of christian activists in the US. Christians do not want us to have equality under the law. The insist they not be the recipients of discrimination, but also insist they should be able to discriminate against us.

Now please tell me why I should respect christians.

When you see someone cutting peaces of their brain out would you not stop them? Not that I believe that being religions is equal to that of cutting your brain out. I am saying when we see something happening to others that we don't think is healthy or right we try to stop them. I don't like most religions, but I am competent enough to let leave those who do not interfer with me. Have you faith just don't keep trying to convince me of your crazy antics.
