If you do, do you beleive that you will be one of the 144,000 that will be saved??

What confuses me about the Rapture is that, according to Revelations, the 144,000 will consist of members of the 12 tribes of Israel. Members of those Tribes are JEWS. So how does a Christian get saved during the Rapture seeing as none of you are members of the 12 tribes??

I am looking for an organization or group that can help me provide Bibles for my Sunday School class at little or no cost because our budget is extremely low. Any ideas? What about the Gideons?

Of all the things that you should be sure of, it’s your eternal destiny. To say "I hope I’m going to heaven" is like standing at the open door of a plane 25,000 feet in the air and, when asked "Have you got your parachute on?" answering with "I hope so." You want to know so— and you can, simply by obeying the gospel. If you repent and place your faith in Jesus Christ, He will give you eternal life and you can know that your eternity is secure. These verses also make clear that those who refuse to trust in the Son of God can likewise know that they do not have eternal life—they will remain dead in their sins.

1 John 5:12-13 He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. <13> These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

"An early view critical of the virgin birth suggests that Mary had relations with a Roman soldier and then married Joseph who protected her from the harsh Jewish laws of the time which would have sentenced her to death by stoning for such an act. This version is recorded by Origen in the third century and attributed to Celsus of the second century, who said he heard it from a Jew, in Origen's Contra Celsum 1.28-32."

For a moment let's suppose that this is the correct version of events (since it is the most plausible). What would this mean for christianity?

IF Jesus was never born to Mary, and instead was born in today's society? Do you think anyone would go for the whole virgin birth story today?

If the tree of knowledge of good and evil is taken to mean all sorts of knowledge then we can see the world over there are people pursuing knowledge. The tree of life is no longer relevant to them. But I feel if anyone who gets the tree of life, won't he has the opportunity to acquire knowledge since he has all the endless life to gather knowledge, all kinds of knowledge. It is interesting to notice that the bible gives such a story. I just wonder whether any other books have this equivalent picture of two trees showing how people would be living out their life after selection of the tree. Without exception, almost everyone is in pursuit of knowledge. Yet with the knowledge, injustice and prejudice are still rampant and right and wrong are twisted. Remember the bible says that the eating of the fruit of knowledge will result in death. So safely and alternatively, seek the tree of life, because in my opinion while you live you will gain knowledge and you won't die. You live for ever.

Why do people come on here with the intent to only insult those with beliefs or religions different from their own? Now, I don't care what religion you are, there are those in all camps who do this. Why? All it does is bring this place down.

I do not like this time of the year because I get too bombarded by people's emotions and fakery. Does anyone know how to protect your Self from the psychic sesspool while still being in-tune with people? I can disconnect, but it's like functioning on auto pilot. I just go through the motions and I fail to pay attention to anyone or anything too deeply. I've been dealing with this since I was a kid, being able to see through people and read them. I've never learned how to turn it off.

Here is another aspect of my "given religion" that just doesn't jive with me. Years ago, if you didn't baptize a baby and then that baby died, the baby couldn't go to heaven. They went to "limbo". Now, setting aside the fact that just using a word like limbo in serious religion is outlandish.....
Limbo wasn't heaven, and it wasn't hell. It was just limbo.
At some point, someone decided that limbo wasn't there anymore. Perhaps the Pope? How can you just change your mind and empty out Limbo on a whim? All of a sudden, one day, the Church decided....no more limbo! Where did the babies go? What happened to limbo? Who decides to just CHANGE religion?

The Scriptures tell us that the "natural man" cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God. Most Americans would find it difficult to understand the Chinese language. However, a child who is born into a Chinese family can understand every word. That’s why you must be born again with God’s Spirit living within you (John 3:3). The moment you become part of God’s family, the Bible will begin to make sense.

What do you think?

The Catholic Church oppreses women, condones pedophilia by priests, campaigns against condom use, even as AIDS spreads.
They also change their mind every few hundred years about whether Jesus was divine, Mary was a virgin, etc...

Why would God not reveal himself directly to us, so that all of us can be saved? Are we really supposed to follow the church? Would God really expect us to with all the hypocracy?
