I agree with you. The Holy Spirit illuminates scripture for Christians. After I became a Christian, it was as though the lights were finally turned on. Before that, I could not make any sense of it.

the bible is old, and the stories are riddles with statements of fact that can not be proved.
If "born again with God’s Spirit" means believing whatever your preacher says without logical thinking, then I'm glad I was only born the one time.

There is truth in your statement as we must pray to truly grasp God's word. If you don't believe in God and his son, then you aren't going to truly understand it are you?

the reason why u can't understand it is beacause the bible has been tampered with over time multiple times. it may say one thing in one chapter but in another it says the same thing, but all mixed up.
