The Catholic Church oppreses women, condones pedophilia by priests, campaigns against condom use, even as AIDS spreads.
They also change their mind every few hundred years about whether Jesus was divine, Mary was a virgin, etc...

Why would God not reveal himself directly to us, so that all of us can be saved? Are we really supposed to follow the church? Would God really expect us to with all the hypocracy?

Because Christianity is based off of faith, not fact. Since nothing is really provable, you can make things up such as 'God works in mysterious ways' as a convenient answer :)

Look at the apostasy in the nation of Israel in the OT, idol worship, sacrificing children to pagan Gods, adultery, drunken rituals, sun worship, intermarriage with the heathen nations, lawlessness. Every deceitful, vile thing was practice by God's chosen people. Yet, they remained the children of God, Why? Because they had the most light. They were supposed to by the heralds of the first advent of Jesus Christ. Instead, steeped in legalism and greed, they rejected Jesus and the light that He brought. Because of this a new nation was called out, the church (Matthew 21:43) made up of all the true believers in Christ, Jew and Gentile alike. Unfortunately, this new nation of believers, many times, acts no more special or sacred than the ancient Jews, despite the advance light they have received through Jesus Christ.

Decrepit as it is, self-serving, unclean, rampant with drug use, divorce, pedophilia etc. God's church will be used magnificently to showcase His manifold wisdom to the surrounding universe. Follow the teachings of the Bible to find your way. Despite numerous signs in times past, unbelievers prevail. Resist the urge to join their numbers. Seek the Lord while He may be found.

Harden not your hearth! The existence of Jesus Christ is not a fallacy, it is even history and there still exists evidence that he once lived here on earth. If he preached to tell you that God exists and died for the purpose which he came, why not believe. Before he did tell us about God, John the baptist did (is it just a coincidence that John knew what Jesus is beforehand?)

If you believe that the devil and evil spirits exist, why wont you believe that God exists.

You should believe in the existence of God not just because great philosophers like Aristocrats, Thomas Aquinas e.t.c believed but you must realize that
(1) FOR ANYTHING THAT EXISTS, THERE MUST BE A CAUSE FOR ITS EXISTENCE
(2) FOR THERE TO BE A CHANGE IN ANY THING THAT EXISTS, THERE MUST BE A CAUSE FOR ITS CHANGE, BY THAT WHICH CAN NOT BE CHANGED.

(consider the fact that you are now grown up, years back you were just a helpless baby, in time to come, you will become old and wrinkled and weak, ask yourself how come). How else do you want God to prove himself to us.
It is not a suprise you dont believe, Houses, cars, computers e.t.c are arts by men; they are magnificient but they know nothing of their maker. The universe and all in it including you are arts of God. (your eyes are on the upper side of your head-in front so that you could see things slightly above and clearly below you, its in front where your feet face so you dont move backward and you can see what you do with your hands - You are perfectly designed and created by the artist God)

The doctrines of the catholic church may not be perfect because it is made by men who are gullible to err.

But truely it is most ideal to remain blameless before marriage (also according to the Bible). The church cannot change the laws of God just to please men. The best prevention for HIV is abstinence, even the holes on condoms are bigger than the HIV virus. I am not a virgin myself, but i will not lie to you.

God has revealed himself to us through His Scriptures and His Church. It's interesting that the Bible says that those who won't believe, wouldn't believe a sign anyway. So, by asking for more "evidence" from God, it's clear that you dismiss the current evidence, and it's highly likely that you would dismiss any other evidence. If God appeared to you in person, you would probably dismiss it as being a hallucination; you'd think "there has to be a logical, scientific explanation, because I know God doesn't exist". So, for someone like you, there is no way for God to reveal Himself that you would believe.

You, and those like you, remind me of these people who blindly support President Bush, even after you show them his blatant lies, his blatant failures, even with all the proof in the world, even when Bush has admitted things like saying he shouldn't have said "Bring 'em on" or that he screwed up in Iraq, still his supporters will not see this "proof" and will blindly follow him. You are the same way, you will not believe any evidence about God, no matter what, yet you demand "evidence" in spite of what's already there.

The Catholic church is not God. God does not expect you to believe in the church. The church is a bunch of humans, they fail, they do bad things.
He has revealed himself to us as Jesus Christ as documented in the gospels. If you read the Bible, you can see the truth. If you just look at the church, you will see all sorts of wrong things. You can never bet your soul based on other humans. You can only bet on Jesus Christ and your own personal relationship with Him.

Will you forfeit your soul just because humans have failed to live up to your expectations of them???

God did give us a sign - He sent His Son! The Pharisees asked the exact same question right after seeing Jesus perform miracles. Jesus responded that He would not show them any sign except that He would rise from the dead.

Don't put your faith in a religious institution or person - people and institutions will fail you because they are not God. Instead place your faith in Him - He will never fail you.

That doesn't mean, however, that there are not churches that don't preach God's word - there are - but you should always be careful and should always keep your eyes fixed on God, not man!

if you need more than the signs of hell and death on this planet already in TheHappening. to know this whole world is guilty of disbelief in TheG-D of TheTorah and the twice comming of Adam as always in TheTorah. then there is no point in giving you any more signs. since you are already refusing to see all the signs even now from G-D giving this whole world hell for all their disbelief. making all the very same mistakes that got the whole world destroyed everytime before in TheTorah, is not going to save anyone. in this world that has never gotten past the week of Parashas Bereeshees. always beguinning again in Parashas Noach, actualy as always here in TheTorah.

Christians really don’t want to deal with the pile of crap that’s all around them. But again, to judge a whole religion based upon a few is ignorant. A real Christian would state that they don’t need a sign from God because they know in their hearts that he is real and need no prove from Him or others. Faith is supposed to be blind and without end. Thus, no sign.

I suppose you believe a car just evolved from steel and its wheels evolved from a rubber tree. Otherwise it must have been created. God said you can know Him by His creation. Take a serious look at the earth and tell me it just evolved from a mass of nothing. Don't look at the Catholic Church, look at Christianity. You will have a better picture of Christ if you look at His followers.

the signs are all around us. Revelations is happening in the present day. follow the book...not the word of man. church is but a gathering place, not a place to take words literally as each man can be posed by the devil, no matter who or what position he holds. the book will not lie to you...but man will.
