If the tree of knowledge of good and evil is taken to mean all sorts of knowledge then we can see the world over there are people pursuing knowledge. The tree of life is no longer relevant to them. But I feel if anyone who gets the tree of life, won't he has the opportunity to acquire knowledge since he has all the endless life to gather knowledge, all kinds of knowledge. It is interesting to notice that the bible gives such a story. I just wonder whether any other books have this equivalent picture of two trees showing how people would be living out their life after selection of the tree. Without exception, almost everyone is in pursuit of knowledge. Yet with the knowledge, injustice and prejudice are still rampant and right and wrong are twisted. Remember the bible says that the eating of the fruit of knowledge will result in death. So safely and alternatively, seek the tree of life, because in my opinion while you live you will gain knowledge and you won't die. You live for ever.

You are very misguided. The choice between the fruit of the two trees was Adam and Eve's choice. Because they at of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil they were able to feel pain and sorry, and also joy and happiness. Without eating said fruit they would have been like drones, knowing neither joy nor sorrow. They would not have had children, but would have been stuck in a state of nothingness (although beautiful from the outside looking in). This would have been for eternity had they then partaken of the Tree of Life. Because they ate the fruit they did they were given free agency or choice and were also subject to the temptaions of the world and death. That is why we needed a Savior, or Christ, because none of us will obey the will of God for a lifetime. So, we get the best of both worlds, we can experience joy and happines (and sorrow and pain at times) and can grow and become educated. Then, when we do die, because of Jesus, we can live again, for eternity. So, I guess it comes down to making the right choices, which will determine our standing for eternity.

It is good to pursue knowledge and wisdom. Proverbs tell us to. However, please allow me to correct your misunderstanding.

The tree of knowledge of good and evil represents knowing right from wrong. When Adam and Eve ate from that tree, they immediately had an understanding of right from wrong (knowledge of good and evil). Before that time, they were innocent as toddlers. The tree of life represents eternal life. After Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, which was forbidden, God made the tree of life unavailable to them.

The reason eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil resulted in death is because sin isn't counted against someone if that person doesn't know what sin is. Once Adam and Eve ate from that tree, they then knew what sin was. And this knowledge has been genetically passed on to each generation of humans since then.

The tree of life will again be reachable to occupants of the new heaven and new earth after the end of this history. Don't get me wrong. Eternal life is still obtainable today to anyone who asks Christ to forgive them of all their sins and makes Him their Lord. However, the tree of life isn't really necessary at this point in time because of Jesus.

I hope this helps.
