I'm LDS and we believe that Jesus Christ died for us, and that he took on the sins of the world in the garden of Gethsemane so that we may repent and become clean before God. I consider myself Christian, but i live in the deep south (along the Bible belt) and i was told by a Baptist woman that mormons are not Christian because we don't accept Jesus Chirst as the savoir of the world. When i told her we do she said that we accept a different Jesus than her!?! I didn't know there was another Jesus Christ!?!! Whats the Deal??

I am a religious person who knows all about ethics and morals and I can understand why certain things shouldn't be done and why some things are wrong and why we shouldn't mess with certain things and why we shouldn't play God, but I still haven't found a reason why cloning is wrong. Give me a convincing argument as to why it is. It's just like identical twins, just made at different times, right?

And I don't want your answer to be "it's just not natural because God made it so that certain things are to be done between a man and woman and it's all about love..." What about in vitro? If cloning is wrong, does this mean in vitro is wrong too? Why is it wrong to help a couple who can't have a child on their own without scientific and medical interference? So why can't we clone?

Note: I think it's important to say that I see absolutely no reason why we should ever clone, but that doesn't mean I think its wrong. Can you understand what I'm thinking?

You were diagnosed with an End stage renal disease, you needed a kidney transplant as soon as possible. You are so poor that you cannot buy a kidney. And then, a total stranger willingly donated one her kidney without asking for anything in return. She just did this for the simple reason that she believes in God and she believes that she will be rewarded after death. Would you still stay on being an atheist?
(This is a true incident)

the God who is supposed to forgive you can actually get hurt? If you think about it, you can only forgive someone who hurt you and if he/she done a deed that did not hurt you in any way then you have no need for forgiving them. If God forgives then God can be hurt but isn't God already too divine to be damaged? If God can be hurt then He is not God.

Many from other religious traditions are opposed to capital punishment. Are there any Muslims who find their faith encourages them to oppose all forms of capital punishment? Please indicate what part of the faith helps you reach this conclusion.

Several times over the past few years, I've heard and read the Xenu story presented as actual testimony of the beliefs of Scientology. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any actual Scientologists coroborate or refute it.

To any Scientologists out there, is the Xenu story a real teaching of Scientology or not?

If it is, do you personally believe that the story is allegorical or actual?

I've also heard that this information is not revealed to Scientologists until they have gained sufficient experience within the organization. Could you please include the amount of time that you've been a Scientologist when responding?

Thank you.

why do we people automatically assume that? even people who didnt know them and just heard about the death. just because somebody died doesnt mean they went somewhere good. if there is an afterlfie, maybe they went to hell. or, if your with those karmic religon, maybe they became a dog or a tree. why do people assume that a corpse HAD to have been good?

I realize there are many translated verions. But I was curious if there has been one published in which you can 'pull out' each of the individual books and study them separately. Meaning, instead of holding one physical book (which is comprised of many books), having individual items that you can pull out of a set.

NOTICE - Nonbelievers, snarks and attention getters need not answer. There are plenty more questions for you to focus your energies on.

I took a world religions class many years ago.. about 1984. An Islamic man came to talk, and he discussed things like "you don't sit down to eat until you know your neighbors are also fed," and many other kind and generous philosophies. What is it like for you to deal with the negatives in the media today that do not reflect the real philosophy of Islam? Or am I misguided?
