A Hail Mary pass is a last ditch effort to get into the end zone for a touchdown. It's one of those do or die plays and everyone always calls them a Hail Mary pass because it correlates to the Hail Mary said at the last second if you have been a goof up all your life and you know you don't deserve anything from God but, you think Mary can put in a good word for you.

I enjoyed football as a kid - it was the only sport I really enjoyed playing. But I have no idea, honestly, what a hail mary pass is. Could someone enlightenme? You cn email me through my - whatever it's called! or explain it here in your answers - I'll check back.
