Many from other religious traditions are opposed to capital punishment. Are there any Muslims who find their faith encourages them to oppose all forms of capital punishment? Please indicate what part of the faith helps you reach this conclusion.

The Law of Equivalence

We uphold the Laws of the Old Testment, we Call the Torah.
If anyone is murdered according to the Quran, the victim's family can either forgo it or order is execution. However he can have a fair trial and there must be witnesses. Self-Defense is not included as Murder.

Quran Chapter "The Feast"
[5:45] And we decreed for them in it that: the life for the life, the eye for the eye, the nose for the nose, the ear for the ear, the tooth for the tooth, and an equivalent injury for any injury. If one forfeits what is due to him as a charity, it will atone for his sins. Those who do not rule in accordance with GOD's revelations are the unjust.

So no as A Muslim I am not against Capital Punishment, but stress a fair and reasonable trial. And again self-defense isn't the same as murder.

we can not oppose thing made by Allah,, simply for a reason that Allah gives the suitable punishment for the suitable sin. like this who steal while he's rich & let 4 people see him stealing "means he made it on purpose & made it not secretly" so in this case we can follow waht Islam says about cutting his hand"not arm" so all coditions must b availbe when applying the punishment.
more or less.. when your lord say something,, you must obey OR oppose when it's not right & God didn't know that.. ofcourse Lord is Lord & he knows what he says.

i dont disagree with any of islamic punishments, as a matter of fact i think the world would have less crimes if they all adapted islamic punishments such as cutting off thieves hands when they steal ofcourse that is after they have their warnings. that way noone would steal cuz they know that they wont just go to jail and get out. may allah help us all. take care. salaam(pe@ce)

Islam is not religion thatcould be changed free by the human like Christian or some other religions...
