.......what is stopping them from giving up all and going out and performing works for God?The reason"God hasnt called me yet" seems weak, evasive and quite frankly a cop out.Is there another reason(Dear where are the keys to the gas guzzling SUV?Are they on the second house in the country keys or the boat keys?)

I would not be offended if anyone said Happy Kwanzaa or Happy Hannukkah, Happy Yule or any other holiday to me. So, why try to restrict any Christian from being happy with Merry Christmas. The vast majority of people in the U.S. celebrate Christmas, so why should we have to restrict saying Merry Christmas as a nice thought?

I know several other people who aren't Christian, but still engage totally in the nonspiritual traditions of Christmas. I don't just mean the insane commercialism of the holiday and buying photos of your kids with Santa, I mean the wholehearted togetherness and being kind to your follow man traditions as well.
Still, I acknowledge that Christmas is born totally of Christianity, and I'm curious as to how Christians feel about the involvement of outsiders in their holiday. Do you think it's great that we're still able to take part in the love and joy of the season, or do you wish we'd find our own holiday, or no holiday at all?

I do, but I want to know other peoples oppinion on things. I believe they did because if they didn't Eve would have probably known that the snake was evil.

No epistles, only the Gospels and the initial days of the church. No Pauline influence. No additional interpretation of the sayings of Jesus.

How would Christianity be different today?

I attempt to answer as many questions as I can with Swedenborgian Theology, and no one else here seems to follow it. I hope I am not the only one here.

If there are others here, how do you find it being part of this obscure religion? Do you believe what the writings say? I certainly do.

I have been surrounded with non believers for as long as I can remember. They all look at me as if I have no sense at all when I speak of God or Jesus. Then, if I just begin to ask a question or touch upon the subject. They always give me the same ole "...oh terri" as if they feel sorry for me.
The fact is that I am not real good at spreading the news. I have very little knowledge of what it is that I am trying to do- so I feel inadiquite.
What is the correct way of going about helping to save another soul that has denied Jesus? Is there a book or a chapter or are there normal words that sink into an average joes intellect better than what I have been attempting to convey? I truely need some guidance- any one got any?

1) Matthew 1:23 says that Jesus (the messiah) would be called Immanuel, which means "God with us." Yet no one, not even his parents, call him Immanuel at any point in the bible.

2) The Messiah must be a physical descendant of David (Romans 1:3 & Acts 2:30). Yet, how could Jesus meet this requirement since his genealogies in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 show he descended from David through Joseph, who was not his natural father because of the Virgin Birth. Hence, this prophecy could not have been fulfilled.

3) Isaiah 7:16 seems to say that before Jesus had reached the age of maturity, both of the Jewish countries would be destroyed. Yet there is no mention of this prophecy being fulfilled in the New Testament with the coming of Jesus, hence this is another Messiah prophecy not fulfilled.

are Christians following a false Messiah??
