Hate is a very strong word. I doubt that many of us who are not Christians really hate Christianity. Seems more the other way around. I have never turned away from a friend because of what they do or do not believe, but I have had it done to me. I did a lot of study and reflection before I chose the path I am now on. I don't think any one is right or wrong. That is one thing I hate about some of the Christian ideals. They are sure there is only one way, and if you don't agree you are automatically a devil worshiper or lead by Satan. Does not matter if you are a wonderful caring person, if you do not do it in the name of Jesus, you are wrong. Go figure. Sorry, but I do not believe in the existence of Satan (or Heaven & Hell)! Of course this statement does not apply to all Christians, some do have an open mind. Anyway, since I am really not anti-Christian I guess my opinion probably does not count.

I don't hate it. I was raised as a Christian and I think there is a lot of good in many Christian teachings. On the other hand:
(1) Like most religions it is based on false mythology - virgin birth, rising from the dead, .... It's a very long list.
(2) There is wide variation in beliefs & teachings among the various Christian sects.
(3) Some very bad things have been justified based on Christian teachings. You can start with the Spanish Inquisition. That was carried out and supported by the Catholic Church. See my "Sources" below for a lot more on this.
The thing I dislike the most is the whole idea of "faith" and the way people are indoctrinated and told not to question the teachnings or to think for themselves with regard to such issues. This isn't just Christianty. The latest horrible manefestations (e.g. 9/11) of this are coming out of Islam. For example, suicide bombers believing that the are marters and that they will be rewarded by God in heaven by 70 virgins.

You may be asking the wrong question. I'm an atheist and am as far from Christian theism as it's really possible to be, but that doesn't mean I "hate" Christianity. The moral foundations of Christianity are mostly good. What I DO object to is bigotry, homophobia, ignorance, interference, Christo-fascism (everyone must do what a certain type of Christian does) and that scary belief that not only are they right, but everyone else is wrong. Not all Christian subscribe to these values. From experience, though, I tend to find that applies to Christians I've known for a long time and liked very much before they let on they're Christian. These are the ones who remember that pride is a sin.

It's not hate of christianity or any other religion per say. I just believe religions in general are wrong. They were born and created as tools of control and power. Look back over the long history of all religions. All are filled with violence, corruption, and hatred. Just think if all of the time, man power, and money wasted on religion were put to better uses like controlling world hunger, better medical care worldwide, etc. The world would be a better place.

The main defense that non-Christians have is that there's no proof for most of the things spoken about in the Bible. There's no evidence for a virgin birth, Noah's Ark, Jesus' miracles, the resurrection, or any of that. There's barely even any extra-Biblical evidence that Jesus existed AT ALL, let alone that Jesus existed and he performed supernatural feats. That fact alone makes a lot of people skeptical.
As far as other arguments... well, check out the below link for contradictions in the Bible, to start:
http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/jim_meritt/bible-contradictions.html
Just to note, I don't "hate" Christianity; I strongly dislike the fact that it is such a powerful force in the politics of this country, and I VERY strongly dislike the lies that some of its hardcore followers spread (the world is 6,000 years old, men and dinosaurs co-existed, etc., etc.), but I don't HATE any of them.

I've never practiced Christianity, but I don't hate it either. I have family members, friends, and co-workers who are Christians and they are very fulfilled with their path---and I am truly happy for them.
I follow a neo-pagan path. Some of the reasons that Christianity has never been an option for me are:
I believe in reincarnation. I don't believe in absolute good or absolute evil. I believe in more than one deity (I am a polytheist). I don't believe that any deity is all-powerful, or all-knowing. I believe in spirits and ghosts. I don't believe the concepts of the Christian heaven or hell. I believe that I am responsible for all of my actions whether or not I am sorry about them or not. I don't believe in proselytizing my religion. I believe that my actions have natural consequences rather than a judgment by my deities. I don't believe that there is only one "true" way to worship.
As you can see, Christianity has never been an option for me. I would have to change everything that I believe in and denounce my deities to follow that religion. That simply will never happen. I am very happy with my deities and my religious beliefs/practices. It isn't that I am against Christianity, but that I am for my own religion. And I encourage all to follow whatever path they feel is right---or no path at all.

I don't think Christianity is wrong or evil. Plain and simple, I just don't believe in it. I dont believe in Christianity because there no proof that God exists. I dont believe in Christianity because I believe that once you're dead, you are dead and that you certaintly can't come back to life. I dont believe in Christianity because I believe that there isn't any heaven or hell. I dont believe in Christianity because if I followed it I wouldn't get to choose my own beliefs and values and wouldn't be a slave under what the bible says and wants me to believe. That's why.

To be honest with you, I would probably be Christian if the Bible was not so absurd. If these people actually knew the truth about the universe back then, why couldn't they have put a few scientific facts in there.

You are assuming a great many things. Just because I don't believe in god does not mean I hate Christians or Christianity. Nor do I think it's wrong. It's just not right for me. You are free to believe any way you like. All I ask is to be allowed my lack of beliefs...when we die, we'll see who was right.

as someone who believe in spirit communication , i think that speaks for itself why i dont believe that you have to be Christian to live on in spirit, as Christianity says that the dead are dead ... i have experience that says differently
there are many other reasons that dont make it the right choice for me ... however i respect all religions for the teachings they bring and i am sure even though it isnt right for me ... it is right for others
