Yea, but even if they had other children it still would have been incest and would have caused physical defects as is seen today when inbreeding happens, or am i supposed to believe that either the genes wouldnt do that as they were 'perfect' or over generations we have commited incest so much it has canceled the deformaties out? if that is the case how come deformaties still occur within incest?

Maybe Adam and eve were not the only people. Outside of garden eden there were other people. Dont forget alot of the ancient information was taken out of bible, so maybe we are missing information.

Basically the official line is this:
Adam & Eve had lots of children. Cain and Able were the first two. After them Seth and then more:
"And Adam lived 130 years and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image and called his name Seth and the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were 800 years and he begat sons and daughters and all the day that Adam lived were 930 years, and he died."
Because God had created Adam and Eve as originally perfect designs their children could inbreed for many generations before any birth defects would occur.

Anyway my personal view is:
God created the world hundreds of millions of years ago. God then created life when the Earth had cooled enough. God guided the changes in these organisms until eventually through guiding evoloution God created humans.
The first humans to gain a personal relationship with their God were Adam and Eve. Adam was the first man of faith, the first priest, and the first Jew. Adam and Eve had children and decended from them were the first Jewish nations.
There were other people in the world, indeed even other species of human (such as neanderthals). They are not refered to in Genesis because they were not people of the faith. These other people made up all the gentile nations of the world.

Anyway there are both the general opinion and my personal opinion on this matter.

A good question that has bugged people for a while. I have answers for all you good people today. But first, the whole picture. When Cain was thrown out of the Garden, it says in the Bible that he was cast among the bad people.

Now you ask, "where did they come from?" And you would be right to worry where they also came from.

The answer to all this is simple. The Bible does not say that God stopped making people(Mates for his first lot) after Adam and Eve. And that is the point really to note. Another is, Adam and Eve were only the first set made.

Adam and Eve had many children but the Bible only names three of them, Cain, Abel who was killed by Cain and Seth. Genesis chapter 5 tells us that Adam was 130 years old when Seth was born and that he (Adam) lived another 800 years. In that time he and Eve had many children. It was their children that married thier siblings and had more children. By today's standard it would be incest but remember conditions were different then and by the time Moses brought the Laws down from Mount Sinai marriage to that close a relation was forbidden.

For the nth time of answering this question, the story of Adam and Eve is not (to my understanding) to be taken literally, but serves as a morality tale to prove that no matter how far back you go in history, humans are still the frail, easily tempted, creatures they always were. However it is amazing when you think of any man and woman, they marry, they have children and by the time of the man and woman's demise, they have an army of children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren who in turn will continue the ever expanding human race. Adam and Eve it? Yes, I probably could!

There were more people on earth besides Adam and Eve. even though the earth was destroyed by the ice age there were a few that God let survive, these were called cave women and cave men. I can't explain it all to you in such a short setting, so I would like for you to write to Truth Worship Center at 16400 N.W. 15th Avenue in Miami Florida and request a tape called the World Before Adam this will explain a lot to you, things you don't under stand. did you know that the earth was more than 2000 years old and that Adam and Eve were not the first people on earth.

they had many more children after both boys and girls. Moses brought in the laws concerning incest before him there were no written laws from God as Abram was married to his half sister you can see that it was not uncommon but we do notrealy need full;; explanations for every thing from the bible we must use out coman seance as well. if there were no other people then yes they married brother to sister but at that time the blood line was pure so no harm done. but if we take Adam and eve as symbolic of the first people we can see their would have been others for their children to marry. I believe to bible but do not take every sentence literally. much is not meant to be.

Ok heres how it happend. God made Adam and Eve Only. He said be fruitful. Therefore they had plenty of children that the bible doesnt mention. Well at this time there wasnt very much sin because adam hadnt sinned very long before therefore his children were able to reproduce without having deformed children. See now after a long period of time there was a lot more sin and a lot more people. therefore God had to say dont do ur sister (in other words). See so at that time it was not bad to mate with your sister. Because if you think about it everyone is related some how. I hope this helps and you understand it.

Incest was not the problem it became later as the genetic code of our First Parents had not been corrupted yet by intermarriage.

The story is told in the book of Genesis, contained in the Torah and Bible, chapters 2 and 3, with some additional elements in chapters 4 and 5. Other details of his life are given in apocryphal books, such as the Book of Jubilees, Life of Adam and Eve and Book of Enoch.

According to the above accounts, Adam was created by Elohim, "in our image." He was then placed in the Garden of Eden. He was instructed to name all the animals, and was given a wife whom he named Eve. He and Eve lived in the garden and walked with God. Eventually, however, they were removed from the garden because they violated God's rule that they could not eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

After they were removed from the garden, Adam was forced to work for his food for the first time. He and Eve had three children named in Genesis: Cain, Abel, and Seth. The Book of Jubilees names two of his daughters: Azura, who married her brother Seth, and Awan, who married her brother Cain. Both Genesis and Book of Jubilees state that Adam had other children, but those other children are unnamed.

According to the Genealogies of Genesis, Adam died at the age of 930. With such numbers, calculations such as those of Archbishop Ussher would suggest that Adam would haved died only about 127 years before the birth of Noah, nine generations after Adam. In other words, Adam's lifespan would have overlapped Lamech (father of Noah) at least fifty years.

If you would consider that Adam was a product of evolution I would suggest that there were many like him during his life. The difference between Adam and the rest of the horde was that he was hypothetically the 'first' one to cross that threshold of evolution to 'human' status. Once he got there he brought with him the hominid he was attached to, thus in effect creating 'Eve' and the rest was history. The name Adam means the 'first' and the meaning of Eve is to represent the dawning of man. I don't think that they themselves came up with those names. The names like the characters to this myth were created by spiritually intellectual people who had a universal understanding of creation but didn't quite have the science to understand evolution.
