I thought you guys were native to the Land of the Lost?

Why are there all these different sleestack people who have the same avatar and similar (yet not always identical) opinions? Is it a club? A new religion? Or just one strange dude who has nothing better to do and got 18 different IDs to get around the usual asking and answering limits and go at it 24 hours a day?

Everyone has heard that Columbus sailed to America for gold, or to prove the earth was round or a few more reasons. Did you know that was only part of the reason? You see Columbus's first name was Christopher, which means Christ Bearer. He believed that his mission was to carry the gospel of Christ to the ends of the earth. But he couldn't get anyone to support his voyage, now, as a teenager and young man he had worked in a map shop and knew maps backwards and forward; and at that time it was believed that the earth was flat. So after going to multiple king's and asking for finance to sail to prove the earth was round and to get riches from india he was rejected multiple times. His last hope was the King of Spain and they said yes! So Columbus set sail, and after a while the greed of gold ate him up and he left his life mission work, but not after discovering America

666, the letter A in a circle? Or something such as a microchip under the skin with all our personal info? Or something that dwells in the heart, meaning the beast left its mark within?

Isn't Allah a reflection of the prophet's madness? Science teaches that moonlight is a reflection of sunlight.

Whatever the mark of Cain was, we don't see it any more (so dont go telling me that god made Cain black) because the only descendents on earth today are from Noah who comes from the line of Seth, not Cain )...but still I am wondering what that mark may be.

Are they mentioned at all in the Bible? Did God create them and kill them off himself? If not, how do Christians explain archeological findings?

...youre wired up to the mainframe? God talks to me, I talk back....we get on pretty good for the most part cept when I'm indulgent and disappoint him. Horrible that....kinda like a hurt parent...the silent dissapointment is worse than any anger.

He says he like Van Morrison and occasioanlly winds me up by telling me random bizarre facts about historical figures that he knows I cant prove. Stuff Like thiertaste in cheese.

The point is, I never approached god as something on a pedastal...just as friend. He says he finds that quite refreshing. I am (how ludicrous!) by no mean suggesting we are generally equal - just equal as friends.

Any comments?

PS: for those that havent experienced this verbal intercourse with god, go somewhere comfy where you wont be disturbed and without an inkling of doubt or rebellion in you mind Say "God?" in your head in the manner as if you were calling a friend from another room. Welcome to the club.

I remember hearing somewhere that muhammad's philosophy on war (that is, when he was confronted by adversaries such as the Quraysh) was first to hide, then to run, and then to fight if the above two were impractical.

I remember hearing this somewhere, but I don't remember where. Does anyone esle know if this is just my imagination or if it's written down somewhere?

Why do so many think that Holy Communion is symbolic? If it is regular bread and wine it is just this worlds food and not the BREAD THAT CAME DOWN FROM HEAVEN. Do you agree?

If you have had experience with TM, both positive and negative, please give me feedback. I am investigating this form of meditation and want to hear from others before I invest, as it is quite expensive. Was it worth it to you?

Does anyone know what the bible says is the origin of the different races? I have always heard people say it happened in the "tower of babel" incident, but the bible only discusses the change of languages, not skin color and hair texture. Is there a different perspective?

My husband always lets me cut my hair as long as it is longer than halfway down my back. However, my grandma is staying with us for right now and she found out I was going to get my hair trimmed just to take off the split ends. She told me if I did that I would be thrown into Gehenna. I have never heard of that before and it scared me and I started crying because I like my hair length trimmed. She has always worn her hair long but I have never heard her say this before. Is this true? I wanted to ask my husband but he is in an important meeting right now so I can't call.
