Only God knows the meaning of life? I think you have asked the wrong question to get an answer. But if I may I will pose this question? What is this thing called life? I have given this question much consideration & I have asked some important questions - to try to fiqure out just who I am maybe you should ask the same questions? Who am I? What is my purpose here on earth? How can I accomplish my purpose? These are major questions & everyone should want to know the answers? I have been bleesed by receiving my answers to these complex questions? I know I am here on earth in the largest school room ever developed - a complex learning center. Most of the time what we do and say here has reprocussions - we creat our own problems. I believe in Karma - cause & effect. I believe in reincarnation - more than one life on this planet earth. I have come to realize I am a Spitirual Being having a human experience - while most people are just the oposite in there thinking.

No, the meaning of life is NOT 42. 42 is merely the Ultimate Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything-- but not the meaning of life.

And life is what you make it. Your own personal meaning is determined by your own actions in life-- the meaning is not the same for every person.

There is no intrinsic meaning in life. I suspect it is true that if all of humanity died tomorrow, the consequence would be zero. We can make a meaning of sorts by surrounding ourselves with the riches of learning, family, love etc Any meaning we construct out of the nothing should be considered precious and should be offered to our fellow humans humbly and in the knowledtge of our own uncertainty, unlike the unashamed proselytising of a certain poster to these answers, who is absolutely certain that slavish submission to the god of Islam is the best answer for all of us. Peace be upon the rest of us for having to read such outdated, ill-considered, superstitious and ant-intellectual drivel.

Ya the meaning is, that there is no meaning to life, man can read all the books, and have all the education in the world, and he will never have knowledge of or understand what the true meaning or purpose of life is, man simply dose not know. He can only speculate what it might be.

There is no meaning to life. life just is. meaning and purpose are man-made concepts. we have no more purpose that a dolphin or a tree or a lake or a rock. we have consciousness superior to the other animals on earth, so we think we're special. but we are not in reality. we're different, but not more special. we exist. that's pretty much it. have a nice day

(I'm going to approach this assumign you meant it seriously) the meaning of life, i believe, is dependant on one's own spirituality and/or religion. Maybe that is the meaning of life, to find out the meaning. Or you can think of it this way, since most religions pretty much allude to it; in life we prepare for death, i.e. confession, good deeds, prayer, etc. thats all i got, hope you find your answer.

The meaning or purpose of life-existence.......
To worship the One and only All Might God

"I did not create the Jinn and mankind, except that they should worship me"

[Surah ad-Dhariyat 50:53]

Also...

“In the name of Allaah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All praises and thanks be to Allaah, the Lord of the ‘Aalameen (mankind, jinns and all that exists), the Most Beneficient, the Most Merciful, the Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e., the Day of Resurrection). You (Alone) we worship, and You (alone) we ask for help (for each and every thing).” [al-Faatihah 1:1-5]

“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allaah), Who has created you and those before you so that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious).” [al-Baqarah 2:21]

“Such is Allaah, your Lord! None has the right to be worshipped but He, the Creator of all things. So worship Him (Alone), and He is the Wakeel (Trustee, Disposer of affairs, Guardian) over all things.”[al-An’aam 6:102]

“And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honour.” [al-Isra’ 17:23]

This is the main, exact reason why we were created by God the All Mighty, to worship and follow Him. Does God need us? No, all He wants us is to obey Him, and worship Him as He should be worshipped, as He is the only One worty of worship, and we should do. Why should weworship Him? He create us and gave us everything we can ever ask or and need. So the least we can do is be greatful to Him, everytime, because he is the All Mighty, that has given us so much. He is nothing like us:

1 Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allah, (the) One.
2 "Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks).
3 "He begets not, nor was He begotten;
4 "And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him."
[Surah al-Ikhlas 112:1-4]

He puts us in bad situations to see how we do, and to obey him, in every command, not altering any, or leaving any, but accepting it all. (this continues to the exist of God)

You may ask, does God the All Mighty even exist?
Yes he does.....
