Why is this, it is a contradiction

So for the Christians here on Yahoo. Would you like to share a story and tell us about the day you got saved and how it feels?

I know I am guilty of this too...........but why is it that people are posting questions on this site instead of praying and searching the Bible for the real truth and figure it out for themselves? I think this is a better way of learning; we need to think for ourselves and learn how to search for answers and not rely on others for them because how do you know you can trust them? This is something I have been learning lately and I find myself grabbing my Bible a lot to look up stuff..........like anything, which is good! I love to learn about God and His Word and I would encourage you all to do the same and search out the answer for yourself! God bless

Especially when you add CLAUS to the name.

I'm not a Bible thumper or a pew jumper, I just think it's a pretty cool observation.

What treasures is being talked about here?????
do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourself treasures in heaven, where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also

I know the flood was along time ago but it doesn't seem like enough time for so many different races, nationalities and colors of people to have evolved so quickly. What do you think?

What would you do? If you saw a meek person that was innocent getting hurt, would you help them? Would it hurt your feelings?
Would you walk away and blind yourself to the goings on?

When I was married, I went through horrible mental and physical abuse from my husband. And although I loved him, I wanted desperately to get out of the marriage altogether. But I didn't think that that was an acceptable reason in God's eyes. We finally divorced when he cheated on me. That was the only thing that I felt that I could divorce him for (religously speaking). Am I right? If not, According to the bible, what are grounds for divorce?
I'm having a really tough time with this.

I honestly can't believe the things I am hearing from Jehovah's Witnesses. I've been talking to them and find them humble and eager to teach. I was raised a Catholic, have studied many different religions, but none of them compare to Jehovah's Witnesses. I have always found all religions to be hypocritical in some way, but not with the JWs (and trust me, I've been trying to find something wrong w/ them). Every single one of their teachings they back up with the scriptures- it's even kinda annoying! lol. I don't know what made me open my door up to them that day, but I did. Anyways, my question is would u listen to them? Give them a chance? If not, why not?

please write the scripture reference only and tell why you it's your favorite.
If everybody copies and pastes a chapter here, I'll never read em all.

Every human experience indicates that knowledge is acquired through tests and evidence.

But he seems to have a penchant for irrational beliefs when it comes to his relation with humans. He somehow thinks that humans who don't know he exists but have faith (believe anyway)
are BETTER than those who are skeptics and EVIL.

First, what rationality, thought, reason, inquire ...has to do with being good or evil? Are you morally criticizing me for not agreeing with your ideas? Isn't that sort of a foul in a rational discussion, where adversaries are not good or evil but simply wright or wrong?

There is no reason why God would favour this epistemology simply because it is evil, and has been so for ages, since the first guy jumped from a moutain believing he would not die with all his heart...and died. Things either exist or not, independetly from your belief. So why whould God do this hide and seek game, this apology for gullibility when all our human experience goes in other direction?

Jeremiah 9:24
but let him who boasts boast about this: that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight," declares the LORD.

1 Corinthians 1:31
Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."

-Amen!

I think it is wrong to give false hope to our kids. Even the Bible says that lying is wrong, so why do people lie to their kids about St. Nick?

What would you do to your minister after you spend your life abiding by all of these rules because he promised to get you into heaven, then you die and ther is none?

That is how a child feels when they find out; betrayed, lost, they loose faith in their own parents and community.

We really need to stop this. What do you think?

Your friend approaches you and tell you that he and his girlfriend are getting serious. He also tells you that he and his girlfriend think that they are ready to go to the “next step” and have sex together.

Write letter to your friend explaining your view on the subject. (Include in your letter chastity, sexuality, family, and God)
