well it's the truth of my life.... i was raised Catholic, was dutiful and tried to do the right thing. then steped out and away and am amazed I'm even alive today after some of the antics and "adventures" of those 80's & 90's. When i wanted to "come home" and started back to church and such - i was never made to feel unwelcome or ashamed (even i confession). i was welcomed and loved and now grow stronger every day.

It's saying that if you stop following God for a while, God's doing everything He can to bring you back. However, there is an end to this, if you decide to reject Christ and not come back to Him, then Paul says that you have forfeited your salvation. Christ isn't going to die a second time. You can't lose your salvation, but you can put it down and if you do that, you don't get Christ to die again. However, I think if it ever got to that point, that you denied Him, that you wouldn't want to follow Him again.

It tells us that Jesus is trying to bring us to Him and He is waiting for us to realize how foolish it is to try and live without Him. There are rewards for obeying Jesus. One did and was not understanding why the son who returned was treated so well. There are Jews who have accepted Jesus as Messiah but they do not get anything more than Christians who have come to Jesus. Our Savior loves in spite of our sins. He is waiting for us to come to Him. He will forgive us and take us back.
