So, you get maybe 100 years, if you're lucky, and then it's over. And then ??? What hope have you ?? How about the BILLIONS that have passed before you ?? What were their lives for ?? Nobody here remembers them. What was their purpose ?? I have a hope, a promise, and all I have to do is accept... What promise do you have ??

Religion is mere ritual so why would God want that? Certainly not for entertainment, because even most humans find it the greatest bore possible.

To prove something? Could we better prove, whatever he might want proven, through our daily lives?

To be praised? Why, is he insecure? I dont even need woman to praise me anymore, I lost that need after age 14.

I know, to show him love! Why would he feel loved by any recitation or religious outline for behavior? Why would he even want or need our love? Loneliness?

If one were to become a Christian where would he/she start? Are there any good websites to visit? Is going to Church mandatory or can you just simply believe the Bible and about Jesus and go to heaven?

The person that runs everybody down because they think they are perfect?

Or the person who tries to uplift others because they know that they're not?

"Look at all of those praying people getting tortured in that death camp. Excellent! I won't do anything to stop that. And look at that little girl down there being raped and murdered. Perfect! She is praying like mad, and so is her mother, but I won't do anything to stop that. And there are three terrorists preparing to blow up a church and kill 1,500 people who are saying the Lord's Prayer to me right now. Outstanding! I won't do anything to stop that. How wonderful it is that 1,000 prayerful people will die of starvation today in Ethiopia. I love it! I won't do anything to stop that. Oh… and there's little Suzy Jankins praying that I remove that pimple from her nose for her big date with Chad tomorrow. Let me go help Suzy right now…"

I am Buddhist and found that there are many misconceptions about it. (for instance, my doctor thought I might refuse medical care like blood transfusions) Have you had any experiences like this?

I'm not asking this to be confrontational, either.

Seriously, if you really believe that this is a sin, then how are those involved hurting society. And please don't say that they are causing harm because they can't have children. For one thing, some of them can (i.e. lesbians). Secondly, if you say that, then you would have to say the same thing about heteros who choose not to have kids, who CAN'T have kids, and others who, for whatever reason, never get married and therefore never have children.

As long as the answers are logical and respectful, I look forward to hearing them from all sides of this.

Peace out.

Will you say Merry Christmas to all, during the holiday season ??

I will. And I won't be worried that someone somehow is offended, because that's not my intention. I wouldn't be offended if someone said. ... Happy Hanukah, Shalom, Happy Qwanza, or any other religions greeting. That's what it is. .. .a greeting. Everyone of those folks would have good intentions with their greeting and I recognize that. Can you recognize that Christians have good intentions when they greet you with Merry Christmas ??

I guess it should read: Just the sarcastic, wanna provoke Christian atheists. I am curious as to why you spend time thinking up crude, rude, vulgar questions that are obviously designed to anger Christians? I am serious.

I'm sure most of you will say that it is because they preach and they are everywhere and it annoys you etc. You feel that they are self-righteous, judgemental w/ what to do and that you're going to Hell, right? Well, THEIR belief tells them to witness and to try to save/convert, right or wrong.. so perhaps many of them need to work on their methods, but my point is this:

Your CHOICE not to believe or be intimidated, converted whatever, leaves you open to do ANYTHING and yet you CHOOSE to come to public forums and harass, provoke and inflame.

WHY?

I'd develop myself mentally, physically, artistically or try to cure cancer etc and not waste my time/energy upon those that irk me. i.e. I don't hate out with the idiots from my job or my 'hood, y'know?

Nietzsche thought so, and in todays struggle against global Jihad, Nietzsche's words appear very prophetic.

Most of us in the west grew up with this moral code and thought it beautiful. While I still have a reverence for them, I now clearly see their limitations.

I understand this appears very provocative, but I simply dont know how to serve this bitter truth any more gingerly (or lack the skill).

Pacifism:

Mat 3:59 "But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also."

Romans 12:20 - On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink."

Mat 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy."

Mat 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God"

These doctrines would be beautiful if the world were a place where pacifism didnt ring as a dinner bell to the cavepeople. People, lets be real, they dont work!

why wouldn't I just ask him myself being that he is 'omnipotent' instead of read it out of a 2000 year old book that all logical evidence points to was written by a bunch of guys who thought the earth was flat (Revelation 7:1-28 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth) ?
