Well, there's nothing stopping you from doing that, is there, Sir?
When in doubt, refer to the original.
Have a nice day.

No one in ancient times believed the earth was flat, and The Bible does not say it is, or even allude to it being flat. The Four Angles were at the Four Compass Points . One in the North. One in The South. One in The East. One in The West. I believe that you know that.
About Ten years ago I was Praying. I had been Praying for several weeks that I would hear the Voice of God. I wanted Him to speak to me. I would cry out to Him,"God, I want to hear Your Voice !" But I NEVER told anyone what I was Praying.
After several weeks of Praying like this, I attended a Revival Service at my Church. The Evangelist was from India, I didn't know him. He was Preaching, pacing from one side of the platform to the other. Suddenly he stooped right in front of me. He looked dead in my eye and said,"Do you want to hear The Voice of God? This is The Voice of God !" He held up his Bible. I came out of my Pew ! I was crying, shouting, and praising God !
Moral of this true story? Just as he said, not knowing how I had been Praying for all those weeks," Do you want to hear The Voice of God ?" THE BIBLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD !

I also believe you should ask Him yourself, and that you are very wise to want to know what His "word" is.
You are in His image, and as you'd expect, like your words, His word is a tool He uses to communicate. You are right, the book is another tool, but this one expresses His message in a form that is filtered by the human experience. And as good a tool as it may be in that regard, it's not about the book. Your life is not about the book, it's completely the other way around.
Whatever you think ~faith or fable~ of the biblical record, you can at least relate to each and every concept as being connected to the physical experience. That is its only possible value to you. The other ways that the Creator expresses His words to you are not as easily discernable in the absence of that physical object.
What do you really want to know?

Silly. The marines use the phrase four corners of the earth too. Do you think they think the world is flat? It's an expression.
If you really want to know God, read His word without the sarcasm.

That means north east south west...... Read Job if you want to attact the bible from a science point of view. God asks him 70 Questions most are about the earth how it sits on nothing so on.... go see if you can find a problem there. I tried :)

God wants you to "search and you will find." He wants us to study what He has already said through others in the Bible. The "four corners of the earth" only means the entire world.

You do ask God directly. The Book helps you recognize when it is God speaking and teaches you about God's character and desires.
You see your own thoughts and satan's talking sound very similar to God so unless you know how to distinguish God's voice you can easily be misled.

The Bible does not say that the world is flat for one.
Luke 17: 30,34 says that it is round.
The four corners you are referring to is North, South, East & West.

Which is exactly why I don't believe in prophets. If God is omnipotent, he is capable of speaking directly with me without needing a mouthpiece.
