"Look at all of those praying people getting tortured in that death camp. Excellent! I won't do anything to stop that. And look at that little girl down there being raped and murdered. Perfect! She is praying like mad, and so is her mother, but I won't do anything to stop that. And there are three terrorists preparing to blow up a church and kill 1,500 people who are saying the Lord's Prayer to me right now. Outstanding! I won't do anything to stop that. How wonderful it is that 1,000 prayerful people will die of starvation today in Ethiopia. I love it! I won't do anything to stop that. Oh… and there's little Suzy Jankins praying that I remove that pimple from her nose for her big date with Chad tomorrow. Let me go help Suzy right now…"

Some of these answers are really good and explain this, but others are just what I would have expected.

Wow, talk about looking at yourself. That was me not too long ago. The problem is that God can only interfere on a limited basis with out obscuring "free will". The hard truth is that rapists and murderers have free will also. It's complicated, and hard to justify. but I guess the better questions would be, why didn't we do something about it?

With the fall of mankind there came an understanding between right and wrong. Mankind has time and again made a choice to do that which is wrong. Man has never had a right relationship with God. Under those circumstances it is mankind not God who should be held to account. God works through people. God works through His church. It is the mandate of Christians and the church to rescue the perishing, care for the dying, feed the hungry, and promote the stability of all people by world peace. I don't think we can lay these problems on God's shoulders. The church has a religious and moral responsibility which has been ignored for far too long.

I don't believe in God, especially if he is our "father". I am a parent and I have "free will", I can assure you that I would not stand idly by while my child is murdered, raped , tortured. I Know this statement will make Christians angry and I am sorry for that , but it is what I believe. I think bad things happen because of negative karma, like a ripple on a lake. Something bad happens to someone and they take it out on someone, who hurts someone else and so on.... So no, these horrible acts are not the doings of "God". God does not exist. It is obvious by these answers that people are not understanding that you are asking a rhetorical question and not actually blaming "God" for anything.

No. I believe he sits back and cries with us when we are hurt like a loving father would do. I think little suzy just got lucky or had good skin cream. God is a neutral party. If he were not we would not have the need for free will. If He came and made all of us behave like proper humans should act then we would have no need to think before ourselves because it would already be done for us in order to keep us all consistently perfect. You do not have to believe it, and I am sure you don't, but those of us who believe in God do so because we choose to and the right to do so should be respected no less than we should respect your right to disbelieve.

It rains on the just and the unjust.God created all things, the good and the bad.Without one there wouldn`t be a balance. We wouldn`t know that evil was wrong if there wasn`t any. There are people who don`t believe in any one thing but they know right from wrong. It`s called morality. One day there will be an an answer to your question that will be answered so much better then I could ever do.We must have faith,And it`s getting harder every day to keep the Faith. He that endures to the end will be saved.

Have you heard of free will? God give everyone the right to decide what they want to do. Therefore, if he stops one terrorist or criminal from doing something, he must stop everyone from committing evil. Also, Satan has a lot to do with this. Satan also has free will and can continue to give the evil the willpower to do bad and take away God's chance to save someone. Also, everything happens for a reason. God will only throw at you what you can handle. He may feel that in order to save the unsaved, he must take things away from them. Unfortunately, we also live in an evil world where no amount of guilt will stop people from doing evil things. I pray for you and others like you to see the lov of God and understand that things to happen for a reason.

God already knew about this and so He sent the solution - YOU, but you are so busy looking out for yourself that you don't have the time to go and protect those people.
Don't you realize that God has made provision for all these things, and they are taught in the Bible, but you don't want us to train chidren with moral standards and so you removed the Bible from the schools and you raise a generation of rapists, and murders, and self centered people. The result is the consequences that you see today, but those who have had the Bible removed disown any responsibility for it and want to blame Christians who fought to have the Bible in the schools in the first place.

It's all karma If it is happening to them they did it to someone else. It's the law of nature.Action and reaction. A baby is born blind or sick because of their previous life they did something to get their reaction. If they are actually praying at the time of death they will go to God and no more misery to them. You have to understand Karma and Reincarnation to understand Gods all loving and merciful nature. If a father tells their child don't touch fire it will burn and the child does it anyway does that make the father bad. No the child is a rascal for not listening. The laws of nature are stringent and one has to follow or they will act. If one is actually praying God will take care. go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truth and karma and reincarnation

no this isn't what God does. we live in a fallen world full of sin ran by satan himself. Revelation 12:12
Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short."
see, more people serve him than the one living God. scripture tells us what this world is about. the bible says in
1 John 5:19 (Whole Chapter)
"We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. "
if you're under the control of demonic forces you will do devilish things like what you mentioned in your statement. God is real and we can never begin to understand why He allows certain things to happen. He doesn't force Himself on no one. if He did, we would not have free will. if we all lived in heaven...no, we would not experience any of the mess we experience here on earth...
even though i'm a Christian, i have had some difficult times. some of them have been becos of bad decisions, others to show me something about myself--areas i need to grow etc. salvation is for eternity...Jesus said we would have trouble here...John 16:33 "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
God has strived with man for centuries...but man rebels against holiness & righteousness. we want to do our OWN thing....pleasure ourselves in any way that feels good, lacking self control. Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens! Listen, O earth! For the LORD has spoken: "I reared children and brought them up, but they have rebelled against me." please don't think the people comitting these evil deeds will go unpunished.
God is real. satan is real...angels & demons are real. we have a choice who we yield our members to.
be blessed. hope this answers some of your questions.
