I guess it should read: Just the sarcastic, wanna provoke Christian atheists. I am curious as to why you spend time thinking up crude, rude, vulgar questions that are obviously designed to anger Christians? I am serious.
I'm sure most of you will say that it is because they preach and they are everywhere and it annoys you etc. You feel that they are self-righteous, judgemental w/ what to do and that you're going to Hell, right? Well, THEIR belief tells them to witness and to try to save/convert, right or wrong.. so perhaps many of them need to work on their methods, but my point is this:
Your CHOICE not to believe or be intimidated, converted whatever, leaves you open to do ANYTHING and yet you CHOOSE to come to public forums and harass, provoke and inflame.
WHY?
I'd develop myself mentally, physically, artistically or try to cure cancer etc and not waste my time/energy upon those that irk me. i.e. I don't hate out with the idiots from my job or my 'hood, y'know?

I thought people would really READ this before answering.
1) I didn't say I was/wasn't a believer. So, assume nothing.
2) I didn't say anything hateful.
3) I certainly am not hurt or crying.
I just really wanted to know WHY? It just seems like a waste of time, energy and, in some cases, a pretty good sense of humor.

By the way, NO ONE who believes in anything social, political or otherwise has ever imposed anything on me other than taxes. Religions come knocking? I choose to answer the door or not. Picket lines? I go around or I cross them. No one has ever grabbed me, but if they do, I'll act accordingly within the laws of society, grace and justice. I won't spit venom nor will I try to win a put-down contest.
I just ignore what I don't care for.
It IS that easy and that is why I ask WHY?

Thank you MC Hummer for not reading a single word in the question/details but for being the epitome of obtuse.
I said nothing pro/con about beliefs/disbeliefs nor schools or governments.. you know nothing about me; as far as you know I could be an atheist that wonders why you do what you do when I don't. Or I could be Christian or Agnostic..YOU DON'T KNOW.

Very good question, I have asked this question similarly. Although, I don't understand even after asking it. It seems that in order for some to be respectful, loving and kind, I believe one must believe first in a perfect higher power. Who does one model themselves after if there is no other God but the idols around them? The biggest Idol people have is themselves. Everybody is looking out for number one. We, ourselves are not perfect, not even close. Even Christians are guilty of this. Yet Christians know this is wrong and humble themselves. So if someone, for example an atheist wanted to provoke a Christian, it is more or less their own insecurities. It makes them feel better, where it should make them feel worse. I know people of all religions and cultures that are guilty of this. People in this forum are mostly blowing off steam. It is easy to be rude and obnoxious behind the veil of anonymity. Anyway, try not to let it bother you, it's what they want. God bless

Quite honestly I do not ask questions on here to upset anybody. I only try to get people to think. I also take the time to think about religious questions. It's a learning experience. It may make people mad when somebody questions something that another feels very strongly about, but that does not make it wrong.

It is because we love you and want to save you from a pernicious and harmful delusion. It is only our deeply felt compassion that makes us want to cure the Christians of their insanity. It is, as you yourself mention, much like trying to cure a cancer. Except that it is not the lives of a few paltry individuals, but the very fate of the world that hangs in the balance.
To have people who believe that they will be magically saved, and who are praying for Armageddon, having access to the largest arsenal in all history, makes trying to find a cure imperative.

If you have been here for very long at all you know that many Christians are equally guilty of this. I don't support Atheists or any other religion being rude and bigoted. I come here to exchange ideas. I fear some religious people are too willing to impose their world view onto other's like me who don't share them. It gets nasty here because so many people can't stand to hear from people who don't see the world as they do.

Out there in the world are thousands of pedophile priests, rapist ministers, christian conmen and blackmailing baptists (telling tsunami victims "convert and well give you food and water!"). Meanwhile, you're getting uppity and pretending it's a problem that atheists want to keep religion out of schools and government.
Your goal is to make it easier for the criminals. Ours is to make it difficult. Can you just not see it, or are a participant in such loathesome christian behaviour?
Clean up your own house first. Unlike you, that's what atheists are trying to do.

More Murder Rape and Pillage (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)
As you approach a town to attack it, first offer its people terms for peace. If they accept your terms and open the gates to you, then all the people inside will serve you in forced labor. But if they refuse to make peace and prepare to fight, you must attack the town. When the LORD your God hands it over to you, kill every man in the town. But you may keep for yourselves all the women, children, livestock, and other plunder. You may enjoy the spoils of your enemies that the LORD your God has given you.
This is part of the reason

It's all about POWER. The power to hurt other people with words, instead of fists. They're really good at it, too. They
must've practiced their skills an awful lot to have become so profecient at inflicting intentional pain on innocent, gullible believers.

I agree with you. I'm too guilty of the above mentioned things, but i do need to get my kicks from somewhere. Hey, if one of the Xtians is open to discussion, I don't mind doing that.
