Religion is mere ritual so why would God want that? Certainly not for entertainment, because even most humans find it the greatest bore possible.

To prove something? Could we better prove, whatever he might want proven, through our daily lives?

To be praised? Why, is he insecure? I dont even need woman to praise me anymore, I lost that need after age 14.

I know, to show him love! Why would he feel loved by any recitation or religious outline for behavior? Why would he even want or need our love? Loneliness?

I'm sure everybody knows that it's man that needs Religion, not God.

Of course, all the other corollary questions just became academic.

Have a nice day.

You're absolutely right. Just for the record I am a Christian. Christianity, as has been stated numerous times by many people in this forum, isn't a religion it's a relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus reserved His strongest rebukes and judgements for the religious leaders of His day -the Pharisees and Sadducee's. Even in the Old Testament God says "I desire mercy and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings"-Hosea6:6. Religion is man made, whereas Christianity is from God. That being said, God does desire our worship and fellowship, for He alone is worthy. He alone is worthy of all praise and glory for sending His Son, Christ Jesus, to be the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world. He alone is worthy of all honour and praise for the many blessings He has given, the beautiful creation around us, the freedoms we in North America we all enjoy. True, the veterans also should be thanked for their sacrifice, but the war would've been lost if not for the actions of God in response to the prayers of His people. God doesn't desire the repetitious liturgical chants of a cold heart. He desires the freely offered worship and praise of a thankful heart.

God doesn't live in the same world we do. We have thousands of peers we can share our lives with. He doesn't.

And why not? you spend the better part of a week building some one a nice house, wouldn't you expect a little gratitude? And don't feed me any bull that you wouldn't. Because if you didn't, you'd feel like you were being taken advantage of.

Think about it. God is the universes first Single parent. Sure, he has his minions to help him out with the day to day chores, but no one that he can truly share with. I'm not sure if you understand the pain that comes from being rejected by your own children, and I hope you never do.

He's alone in a house filled with a few billion of his children. All he ask for is a little order and gratitude from time to time. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Religion isn't for God. Religion is for us.

The Army isn't the only one who wants you to "be all that you can be." That's what God wants as well. Religion is a way for us to be in touch with the divine creative power of the universe (i.e. God).

Christians believe that God IS love. That love is the one thing we can have and do that takes us beyond our ordinary selves. Religion gives us a way to share in that love and to spread it.

Sure, you could relate to God strictly on your own without an organized religion. That doesn't seem to satisfy most people though. Humans seem to function best in community -- from family, neighborhood, and tribe on up to nation-states. That desire to group together applies to the religious impulse as well. The learning and practicing of love in community is the whole point of organized religion.

(Granted, it doesn't always turn out that way. Free will gives a chance to choose good, but it also gives us the latitude to muck up things, including religion. That leads to Crusades, Inquisitions, Jihads, etc. etc.)

The rituals of religion are not "mere" anything. People need signs and symbols to make philosophical ideas more concrete (a nation's flag, a college mascot, a judge's robe). The ritual action of religion gives us a way to express in concrete form (sacraments, group prayer, church buildings, hymns) ideas that might otherwise be very hard to grasp.

God created us to know Him and to glorify Him. When He created the 1st man and 1st woman, He created a paradise for them. He did not create a religion. Religion was far from God's mind. Even now. As they said here, religion is man-made, not God made.

God wants a personal relationship with us. After Adam and Eve, He wants this relationship more than ever because He did not create us to condemn and leave us to our own devices because He knows, without Him-- we are lost. His original plan is He wanted us to live a happy and fulfilled life. After the fall of Adam, humans became by nature-- sinners, morally blind and ignorant. That's what we are. But God is so good--He even send His Son to be crucified and die for our sins, just because He wants us to be in paradise with Him. His purpose is to lead us to the right path; so when we die, we will spend it with Him-- in paradise, His original plan for mankind.

He gives you a free will. You have all the right to choose which way you'd like to go in life- with or without Him. It's your choice. He is not lonely nor insecure. He is ultimately responsible for our being here as He is our creator. So He uses people to reach out to those that do not know His true nature.

According to the the Holy Bible: Trust God with all your heart and He will direct your paths--- if God is in your team, nothing is impossible to those that truly love Him. When you obey His commands, you are always the "head" and not the "tail"-- meaning you will always be victorious and not a victim because you are under His umbrella of protection and provision.

But it's your choice, and I hope that you choose "life" and not "death". *smile*

To answer your question about religion, religion started out as a few people getting together and learning about God's word. It then developed into something more organized. For me religion is a way to keep on track with my faith. It also a way to hear God's teachings and to help show me how to live a better life. So God created it as a tool for us, whether we want yo use it or not, to help us draw closer to Him.

I hope that helped and I hope I didn't offend.

Religion is man made ,and so is the concept of
god. they only thing we know exists for sure is us ,people fear life without god or religion, the feel empty without a believe.
religion is about making a believe to ease ,comfort and make true meaning to life ,when no one really knows what life is all about ,some say Love some say happiness and fulfillment .
If god truly exists then all of us must know and understand what s/he have to say individually from the opinions of others.

Religion is simply the set way of practices or his followers. We need religion so we dont end up in error. At the end of time though there will be no mroe religion, because we will be with God.

Religion is not required to be with your God, that's a personal thing. Sometimes being with close associates sharing common bonds is a good way to explore your understandings and that
should be the true model of religion.

Religion is of man, god is you and me, he requires no praise, only creativity, as what we are. he needs us as much as we need him, it is the bring back too, a whole. We are the lonely & the lost, yet we dont see this. We are seperate and that is not of God.

I AM
