Later he said "Lay in wait and kill the infidel Christian and Jew"
Why is this, it is a contradiction

This questions pops up all the time and most islamics do not know the reason for this quote. I wonder if the radicals have accepted the later quote from the koran and thats why they want to kill everybody regardless of their being Muslim Christian jew or whatever other religion. I feel nothing but love for all those who love the true God and still love those who have yet to find the real creator of the universe

I can't answer as I'm not familiar with the term. I'm Jewish, I have many Christian friends and many Muslims friends as well as a multitude of friends from other faiths. Perhaps a contradiction, maybe an error, maybe a translation mishap, who knows? But I do think it's great for better cultural understanding as well as spiritual growth to read all 3 great religious books, The Quran, the Torah, and the Bible. I'd rather focus on the similiarities (which are many) then the obvious differences.

nicely, at first- a real Rabbi has spent timelearning Judaism in an yeshiva. Messianic ministers (I refuse to even offhandedly communicate over with them as Rabbis) are Chhristians who've studied Christianity and then learnt the thank you to shoehorn Chrsitianity right into a warped thought of Judaism. in short- Rabbis are Jewish- Messianic community instructors are Christians with warped and weird and wonderful recommendations approximately Judaism.

there's no contradictions because you don't understand the verse in the Quran.

prophet Muhammad didn't make up the Quran, every single world was revealed to him.

the word Arabic Awliaa doesn't mean friends, it means protectors of faith or sponsors.

the other verse that speaks of killing the unbelievers clearly speaks of the pagans of Makkah who had attacked the Muslims.

you see, every surah in the Quran was revealed in certain events.
like that verse it wasd revealed when the pagans attacked the Muslims in Makkah near the sacred mosque and around the holy months that's why this chapter was revealed to give the believers guidelines on how to fight BACK during the holy months.

neither the Quran nor the hadiths ever tell us to kill any innocent person, be it jew, christian or non believer.
the only killing we are allowed to do is in case of self defense period.

verify what i said and you'll know it's true.

im an atheist but my religious friend told me something that did make me think.

he said that what people need tro realsie that you cannot rationalise religion with a human mind, as our minds are incapable of doing so. He says god alone can do this.

He said that religion is about having faith and nothing else, you either have it or not.

I thought that was an EXCELLENT point and ive never criticized religion since. I have criticized religiousd humans and groups, but not the religion itself.

Islam recognizes Jews & Christians as "People of the Book" (followers of Abraham) since they are all monotheistic religions/faiths. I believe that statement you wrote isn't complete, there must be something else to it, and I think it serves as a warning. (For example, if a Jew tries to kill a Muslim, the Muslim would use self defence...)
Again, religion is based on each person's interpretation.

Read the bible and the torah to describe Muhammad who's of the different religion. You want to describe Muhammad PBUH you read the Quran...

*grumbles* the nerve of some people putting that pic on display..Euuww ;p

When Mohammad was being persecuted, he took refuge from a Christian friend. Before he became a prophet, he was a friend to many Jews. When Muslims in Afghanistans rebelled against Russia, they sought help from US and when they won the war, they started going against the US. So, what is new in your question? That is the common character you will see in people who use religion as their shield to hide their true colors. It is not only Muslims but also those who are opportunists.
