If you're not Catholic or have never been Catholic or have never studied Catholicism, you have no basis for your answer.

If so, do you think that what the grown-ups did to the children was right? Do you believe that a child should learn about religion at a young age, or be allowed to grow up and see the world/read the bible for themselves before making decisions about the existence of any kind of 'God' (or the non-existence of)?

here's mine:

'Christmas is THE so called 'christian' Holy Day where rich Western 'christians' give each other lots of stuff they dont need instead of actually following their 'Lord' and feeding the hungry with their 'hard earned dollar' instead. Not stuffing the pockets of rich ceos who are profitting on the misfortune of others. If all (instead of only few and far between) so called christians actually practiced what they preached, world hunger would cease to be. WWJD?'

That's what Santy Clause Christmas is to me.

WHat is it to you? :-)

Im not into religion, but after studying religion, in particular 'Islam', here are my thoughts:

A) Daily ritual would be employed to saturate every part of a victims life. Ex: Contrast Christian once a week Suday Church ritual to Muslim five times a day ritual prayer plus Friday ritual Mosque attendance.

B) Literalism or fundamentalism (taking and applying scriptures literally in all circumstances) would be mainstream. Ex: Literalism in the Islamic commuity is mainstream, contrasted to Christianty where fundamentalist are the minority.

C) Victims are kept in an insular cult or society where voices from the outside are kept out and demonized. Ex: While Christian community labels many areas of our culture as "of the world", science (except except evolution) is no made part of the outworld, along with everything else. Contrast with Islamic culture that essentially demonizes everything non-muslim. Islamic countries have the lowest book translation rates of the world. One voice.

Mat 16 :19
Jesus gives the keys of heaven to Peter (perhaps all desciples listening) and tells them they have the powers to bind and loose on earth.----make new rules

Acts 15 at 28 After all the apostles including Peter met and discussed and prayed about what the Holy Spirit desired for gentiles they say

" it is the will of the Holy Spirit and of us (those who were given the power to bind in heaven)to lay no extra burden on you than these necessary things"

They then wrote these in a letter and sent them to the Gentile believers in the Way (note these were not Hebrews and so the letter to the Hebrews unlike this letter is not addressed to gentiles)
and goes on to mention things that were idolitry at the time and the debatable fornication rule since it too was a form of idolitry with temple prostitutes (not the Jerusalem Temple) and needless to say this does not include Old Testiment law I so often see quoted.

How does this fit into your idea of rightly dividing the Word

Everyone seems to have such a cheery attitude,

they don't know what it is to suffer. How can they be so blind to the torment life is to some?

My dad passed suddenly away a little over a year ago. A week before his death (exactly) I dreamed that someone close to me had died. I could never put a finger on who it was, but the emotions I felt in the dream were as real as the ones I felt a week later when my dad died. Throught several days after I had the dream (maybe even the whole week) I had such a feeling of sadness and heaviness, like someone had really had died.

When I got the call a week later about my daddy, I didn't remember about my dream right away. Eventually I started asking myself: Was the dream just a coincindence? Was it a message? A premonition? What does it all mean? I have not found any answers yet.

The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination, so how can you be gay and claim to worship God? Don't give us that "everyone sins" line, it won't work!

when I lived in sin I lied alot-telling others about how great the sin was-getting drunk and all that kind of stuff-but my life even with "There is pleasure in sin for a season, but then cometh the judgement." my life was mostly empty or less then empty missing doing the sin.

then I prayed and let Jesus in-"Jesus im sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen." and he did like he said he would Revelation 3vs19&20 now my life is very wonderfull

How do the americans grieve for their dead? Do they believe in reincarnation or that the dead one dies forever? I can understand much about my new neighbors in this country if I understand their grieving over lost loved ones.

The whole justice-is-karma may work great for people who believe in this and work toward taking responsibility for their actions, but what about people who don't believe in karma or another higher power?

If karma makes sure that people get what they deserve, are laws on earth necessary? Also, would moral guidance be necessary?

I wanted to try something new and different, so I decided I needed a change in religion as well, to expand my viewpoint and horizons (I have more reasons, but I don't want lectures, please...just info, thanks ^_^)--so I have been writing letters and asking, but I have gotton either curt responses or none at all. So far, I've been told that I may be excommunicated if I don't stop trying to leave. But I didn't break *any* rules, and I made *sure* that I didn't, so I shouldn't be excommunicated for stuff I didn't do.
What do I do? Please help me!
