The numbers of converts to islam are widely reported...
but what isn't as widely reported are the numbers of prisoners that convert to christianity.
converts to christianity do not make the news.

Because when they are in such a state of desperation the doors open and they experience an epiphany. Most of these criminals were are really searching for love and hope. Something they didn't get in their life. They must have been from broken homes, dysfunctional people, raising themselves on the tough streets. They had no faith in anything. They didnt get the love they yearn for. In jail you are thrown into the pit of darkness away from society, away from all the chaos and put into yet another. At this final stage, with no where to go, they finally open there minds to things they never had time to consider. When they fumble upon Islam, they realize it is truely a very compassionate religion with a God that is ultimately the Most Merciful. They may not get forgiveness from society for their crime but they find peace and comfort in a religion where their God is Most Loving and Forgiving. All you have to do is repent and you are as pure as a newborn baby. These criminals finally get a second chance at life and embrace the religion of hope whole-heartedly.

the american nation of islam is not the same as the islamic religion it is only piopular in America, becuase it directly addresses racial inequities and issues of african americans, even though they use the same qu'ran ,Islam does not have a leader it has imams which are kinda like advisor priests , not leaders, but the nation of islam has a leader, elijah mohammed, there are more differences but these are the major one also a minority of moslems actually believe there is a leader that is what the whole shiite / sunni conflict is about however the majority do not follow this, this is why Iran has a religious leader the ayatollah.

the Nation of Islam is NOT Islam.
do a little research, not because they named themselves "the nation of Islam" means they are Muslims.

Criminals are always looking for a way out of the joint. If they can make people think they are reformed, it will help when parole time comes around. Many "convert" to anything just to get out of that place.

it is just another scam to get special treatment.
prisoners spend their whole day thinking up scams.
