Can you have joy while things are going bad? Or do you have to wait until it clears up in order to feel joyful..? I know in the mist of any troubles I find joy is what helps me through troubles..

Just because I know more than they do?
God is not a man, neither the son of man (numbers 23:19)
Jesus is a man and the son of man ( multiple scriptures)
Jesus is the Messiah, tho, and my Lord and Saviour
Why do you hate me so?

Or if you are "philosophically" against it, like for example, if a Christian cannot see a reason for the existence of God and thinks that it is more likely that if we die we're just dead.

So is religion something meant to straighten out our faults (no pun intended here), or is it a mould created by misguided people centuries ago? There is really no way to provide rock hard evidence that the world is not really all there is. So should we satisfy our "individuality" or be good and follow the faith which we were born to?

The Qur’an refers to this miracle in the following verses:

The Hour has approached, and the moon split. But whenever they see a sign, they turn away and say, ‘This is evident magic’. (al-Qamar, 54.1-2)

Materialist philosophers and their unreasoning imitators, who want to cast a shadow with their vicious delusions over such a bright miracle of the Prophet Muhammad, upon him be peace and blessings, as the splitting of the moon, say: ‘If the splitting of the moon had taken place, it would have been known to the whole world and related in all subsequent books of human history’

across the world. Now, I am seeing someone walking on waters, levitating in the air and host of miraculous tricks once an exclusive domain of Christ. But these people are doing it for show or money. Are these one of the sign of times?

Why do the debates over religion in this section get so heated? It just seems that this forum could be a great learning opportunity for everyone, instead people here seem really angry and hostile sometimes. What's up with that?

I want passion here. I don't want you to say yeah because I have Jesus in my heart, or only God knows. I want passion in the answer. What makes you feel you have earned enough or haven't. The answer I choose as best will not necessarily be what I believe but who show the most passion in their answer.

After several "discussions" on here, I know that many religious types hold beliefs based on nothing more than devout faith - which I'm NOT having a dig at.

I have also been told that God will give me several opportunities to see the light etc. in my life and that I may at some point in the future acquire faith.

If I came on here at some point in the future and stated that God had revealed himself to me and now believe, I'm sure these folk would be pleased, some because they genuinely care and some because they will have "won" - which seems much more important to them, sadly.

However, what if I didn't stop there, but claimed God had spoken to me? What if I claimed I brought a new message? What if I claimed that what had gone before was to help less advanced people make a civilisation and that a new truth existed? What if I claimed to be a messenger of God? A new prophet? The Messiah? The second coming?

At what point do you decide not to have faith? How do you know?

... and therefore nothing is true.

If the only reason you can accept a claim is by faith, then you are admitting that the claim does not stand on its own merits.” (Dan Barker)

Faith is the antithesis of rational thought. This is why so many religious leaders actively preach against rational thought and even advanced education. They realize that rational thought and education can destroy religious faith and result in fewer followers for them.

People take Gods name in vain because its natural for the Devil to fuel that hate and have people vent their anger by blaspheming the one person he despises the most. Like when somebody yells out "JC" or says "OMG". You never heard somebody say "Oh My Allah" LOLOL, or yellout MUHAMMAD!!! LMAO, or OH MY KRISHNA, lol catch my drift. which does sound alot funnier BTW, and I think probably its funnier cuz im a Christian, but I dunno
