Sir Elton John, the apparently 'anti theologian' rock star is advocating the abandonment of religion in England.. this year we have seen other British celebrities wuch as Dawkins author of the blind watchmaker also advocate making teaching relig to children illegal... why is this... The Church of England is pretty mild and hardly a picture of oppressively overstepping authoirty. Is this an overreaction on their parts, a reasonable view, or the stuff of what keep psychiatrists in business when rock stars can't handle people who disagree with them

I haven't prayed for the past 2 years. I used to pray everyday for my friends safety and he died anyway. Everybody kept saying it was just a part of God's plan. So if God has a plan then what good does it do to pray for something that's not part of his plan? and have I lost my faith for believing this?

"Money is a difficult issue with megachurch pastors", according to RACHEL ZOLL, AP Religion Writer Fri Nov 10, 2006.

As in any business, money of course is a prime issue.

Ms. Zoll points out how, in typical fashion for a number of mega businesses, Pastor Ted Haggard “started New Life in his
basement”, rose to the stars and did so by hustling the gullible. A tactic not unknown in the business world.

I point out the obvious that, like the leaders of Enron , Pastor Ted screwed his ‘stock holders’ ie., his congregation, by denigrating a supposed important attribute of what he preached, Moral Behavior. Never the less, he did sell them something else they craved, ENTERTAINMENT. Entertainment can be worth the price of admission and the business entertainment world strives to provide that.

If we look at New Hope megachurch as a purveyor of Sunday morning entertainment then Pastor Ted’s drug and sex behavior is
no different than what we too frequently see in the rest of the entertainment business world.

Pastor Ted technically should be able to have an image rehabilitated by church “spin artists” and the New Hope business
enterprise salvaged for what may well be what is sought by its entertainment seeking congregants.

A question though: Why, unlike Radio City Music Hall, does New Hope get to do its gig tax exempt?

realize their man-made traditions are errors if not grounded in Scripture?
Infant baptism-
Popes-
Confession to a priest-
Not eating meat on Fridays-
Attending church on Sundays; etc.
These are all non-Scriptural & error. Jesus practiced NONE of these!

Is it a sin to cuddle in bed with my bf and just kiss and make out, but we completely understood and respect each other and not have sex? Even when cuddling in bed I do set restrictions that he cannot touch me in certain places or certain ways that contribute to sexual desires.

If it is a sin to cuddle in bed but without sex, please state the bible verse it came from.

fighting (ok read on). Figuratively speaking, fighting over scraps like hungry dogs. I've seen answers to questions like, God will never lie, and someone else will say, yes god would, but Allah would never. Are these 2 religions fighting over what is left of the "lost" population? I hear the holy war bell ringing.

As god's people, where is god taking us? Does he have a plan for us? What is the plan? How does he know where he wants to take us? How will we know we have got to wherever it is he is taking us. And when we get there, how will we know we haven't been taken to the wrong place ?

Does that mean that thw whole Koran was written by a man, not God. It is also obvious that Surat el-Naml, 91-92, was written by Mohammad, not God:

إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الْبَلْدَةِ الَّذِي حَرَّمَهَا وَلَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ {91}
[Shakir 27:91] I am commanded only that I should serve the Lord of this city, Who has made it sacred, and His are all things; and I am commanded that I should be of these who submit;

وَأَنْ أَتْلُوَ الْقُرْآنَ فَمَنِ اهْتَدَى فَإِنَّمَا يَهْتَدِي لِنَفْسِهِ وَمَن ضَلَّ فَقُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ {92}
[Shakir 27:92] And that I should recite the Quran. Therefore whoever goes aright, he goes aright for his own soul, and whoever goes ' astray, then say: I am only one of the warners

Is it true the Old Testament says God unleashed these terrible things upon Jacob - to prove to Satan that it was not Jacobs riches that made him love God.
This was said in South Park- so it probably is true.
