I mean, He's the creator - ok, but why is He our lord too? Why do we have to submit to Him?

He is my Lord because He is almighty.

He is my Master because He has conquered me with His love.

This is a rather old question.

First you must recognize that not everyone considers themselves to be subject or created by an omnipotent supernatural entity. Some individuals consider themselves to be created by 'god' but do not see any valid reason to serve this deity.

You do not 'have' to anything. You have free will and a choice. Even if you believe there to be a creator god, you are not forced to worship this being.

In the Christian faith, which I assume you are a member of, the creator is commonly referred to as Lord. While the biblical texts list the consequences of not serving this being they also show that many in fact did not follow this deity. If you are a Christian I am sure you have been told at least once in your life to put your faith in the Lord.

Many protestant Christian doctrines state that an individual must follow the lord or face the eternal consequence of hell. This fear mongering tactic was borrowed from the catholic church. There is no hell. Not even in the bible. There is the lake of fire mentioned in the book of Revelation. There is the Outer Darkness mentioned by Jesus, and there is the Grave mentioned in the old testament. Nowhere in the bible is an all consuming fiery hell mentioned. (I will get back to this)

Early Christianity was a very communistic family/cell based organization. New converts came over by choice and found out about the religion by the teachings of evangelists or by asking questions of existing members.

The concept of Christianity as a requirement came about when the Roman Catholic Church began its conquest in the name of 'god'.

In true Christianity you need only make a choice to serve the creator and follow the dogma and ritual. The concept that you must follow or face eternal consequence is a largely catholic and western protestant idea.

In Short, he may be your lord, but not everyones. You may think he is the creator but many do not. Something to remember.

There is no evidence of any kind that there is a god of any kind, or that there was a "creator" of any kind. There are natural explanations (with no need for a "supernatural" being of any kind) to explain our universe, our planet, and us.

Why people feel the need to bow down and worship some mythological figure for which there is no evidence is beyond my understanding -- I guess some people just can't take responsibility for their own lives, and must have some authority figure who tells them what to do and what to think, even if the authority figure is a completely fictional and made-up being. Sad, really.

He is also the supreme judge of all, and the creator of moral law.
You do not have to submit, do your own thing, and see where it leads. God loves you enough to let you choose.

Well gee, if you confess that He is your Creator then why do you think you have to obey Him? I mean, doesn't it make sense that the being who made you and who provides everything that you need to keep on living should be honored? Do you think that the eternal God of Heaven just created people so that they could run off on their own and live in his creation as their own masters? Besides which God doesn't tell us to do things out of some capricious nature. He gives us things to do for our own good and his glory.

Deuteronomy 30:15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; 16 In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Because some crazy person thousands of years ago decided to. Sorry but this is my opinion. I don't believe in god in the first place, and i'm not trying to offend any one but. . . he's right why do you have to submit to someone who you never see, talk to, of have REAL proof if real for that matter? Think about that!

When we finally got the ability to record these tails, all men were lords of their homestead. Releasing your troubles to someone else eases your conscience, we all would like to believe it is someone above us, not below us.

The Creator is your parent and your friend if you allow it.

The fierce and angry god is an invention of people selling religion. Same as the old "barbarians are at the gate" ploy of politicians ancient and modern.
