Hundreds of Mormons have been killed for standing up for their belief including their founder Joseph Smith - am I to conclde that that Smith was a true prophet?

2006-11-11 07:42:39 · 15 answers · asked by Anonymous

Examples:

- Adam first, then eve.
- Jesus as son of God, what, no daughter?
- Only male priests, bishops, cardinals, and popes. Why no women controlling the direction of the church?
- Women covering themselves, but not men?
- Jesus' wife made to be a prostitute.

Is Christianity really about God, or about empowering men over women?

Would God not value us all equally, or are men really closer to god?

It is told that Jesus and prophets proved their claims by performing miracles.
There are no miracles (supernatural events) today
So aren't the sceptics rightful?

By saying miracle, I mean "supernatural evidence"

So please don't use
1-complexity and beauty of the universe
2-holy books
3-Interesting events or coincidences
4-Air,wind or electricity arguments (they are not supernatural)
in your answer

(also don't use prophecies or scientific verses
because
prophecies = vague suggestions that can be interpreted to mean anything
scientific verses= smart and sensible suggestions in harmony with every era's scientific findings )

Why don't you study it for yourself before telling me I'm the anti Christ? All you do is prove that many atheists know far more about your religion than you do - so who's the uninformed here? Don't you think that to be a good steward of Jesus you should stop the shrill and know your facts?

Can someone please direct me to the exact Koran scripture where Mohammed teaches that if we do not make peace with our neighbor, our acts of goodness mean nothing? Also, can someone link me to the organizations forming a conference of Muslim leadership to create a central council for redressing issues peacefully to stop political protests and abuses by militants who otherwise promote terrorism?

It seems like some Christians view that as a betrayal of some kind...

and we see Christians bashing the Islamic dress for women, and question the rights of women in Islam, when It gives them Chasity, purity and modesty.

Women are not punished when they don't wear the Hijab, they do it out of their own will, so why don't you respect free will?

Watch this video - can anyone prove this is not the 'Muslim' way ?
http://www.break.com/index/startswiththe...

The Bible fortells the existence of the False Prophet- significant, since Islam is growing into the BIGGEST religion on the planet. Isn't killing non-Muslims the real way of the Koran ? If not, can you prove that, possibly with religious quotes from your Koran ?

Qur’an:9:5“Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
Qur’an:9:112“The Believers fight in Allah’s Cause, they slay and are slain, kill and are killed.”

( - This is aimed at Muslims, mainly, atheists, etc. and their anti-everything opinion- don't bother, no one cares. )

Apparently people can't handle criticism, even when it's brought forward in a honest, factual way such as this. Is the video false, are all of the quotes false ? WAKE UP.

The answer, of course, is the Egyptian God Horus.
Stories from the life of Horus had been circulating for centuries before Jesus' birth (circa 4 to 7 BCE). If any copying of stories occurred by the writers of the Egyptian or Christian religions, it was the followers of Jesus who incorporated into his biography the myths and legends of Horus, not vice-versa.
Perhaps I've been wrong to assume you all had studied the origins of Christianty - if you haven't it would explain somewhat your devotion to it.

When all they can do is answer unproductively "there is no God"
They look lost without an intelligent answer.
Maybe Yahoo should make an atheism and non religion catagory so they can all agree with themselves in there leaving serious discussion in here for people who have beliefs unhindered by nonsensical answers.

Mav was gone for awhile and had almost 100 emails from different people wondering how she is doing.
Mav got emails from all sorts of people of all sorts of faiths and some of no faith.
Mav thinks all these people show agape love.
Do you think non-christians can show that kind of love?

Is it possible? How do you do this without becoming a cultist/fanatic? Avoiding people/relationships altogether just doesn't seem reasonable.
