Glad to her that you aren't an atheist. I wonder why you would ask such a question if you believe in God through... That seems strange.. Ok my pat answer for this question is.. Science says that the elements are eternal, that is they have always been there. That they can't be created nor can they be destroyed. If science can except that how much easier should it be for a non atheist to believe that God has always been there. Always about the job of creation? In simple words that even a christian can understand God has always been there... Jim

Your statements, and that they have splendor in them, may well be plenty greater effective usual if the be conscious God did not have numerous connotations. once I ask human beings to describe God, i'm getting bible verses, the dictionary definition is a ultimate being exterior of ourselves, some style of beingness that we at the instant are not. you ought to call your thought existence, the Universe, regardless of yet once you prefer to call your thought God you're an atheist through fact you have not got faith in some style of greater suitable being that is over there and us over here. The very thought of omnipresence God is everywhere, isn't the dictionary definition, that isn't the only interior the bible, the OT god become a recommend vengeful factor, installation all descriptions of a devil. there are various techniques of asserting what you say, that there is in basic terms one human beings is a sturdy way, the only turning out to be the numerous below the flexibility of phantasm, to nicely known itself through fact the numerous. each thing is made up of an identical stuff. each thing is in action, each thing is alive, the i'm once you say i'm is an identical i'm that God reported i'm that i'm that echoes in each human beings while we are saying i'm. the difficulty you have become jumped is the be conscious God. we've dogma teachings of religions the am god, spelled backward, the religions attempting to be god and let us know what god is and is not. you have plenty to proportion, i think of you merely might desire to nicely known the thank you to modern it greater effective. that is a sturdy factor that persons are rejecting the assumption of any god, we would desire to swing the choice thank you to do away with the tyranny of religions, and then there'll come a time while many human beings will understand what you realize. Peace, Kathy

I'm not an atheist however I am an atheist supporter. I hate this argument though because it is so simplistic. G-d as defined by the judeo christain beliefs is infinite and exists beyond the realm of space of time. He simply always was always is and always will be.

I am not saying this is true or that you have to believe it but that is how many religious people see it and thus that question is moot.

I want to add also that this question isnt any more answerable than what existed before the big bang, or what exists outside the observable universe.

I have an answer for you but you may or may not agree with it. I'm LDS and we have a great deal of information that explains this. I don't feel comfortable answering this question but i can refer you to a website www.mormon.org. We also have missionaries that will come and visit you and talk to you about God and his Son Jesus Christ. Also God never wants us to be confused about anything Thats why we have a Bible and a Book of Mormon. The Bible and the Book of Mormon work together so that we will understand Gods nature and the love he has for us. There are some people that say we are not supposed to understand the mystery of God, but wouldn't he want us to know him just as he knows us. yes he would. God Bless!!

The creator IS the creator. We don't need to understand who made the creator. We only need to understand how WE got here. We can see our universe is a result of intellegent design.

How the creator got here is his business and we probably couldn't understand it anyway.

God is self existent.

He is the primordial, necessary, absolute reality to which all things refer.

He exists because He is Existence Itself.

Finite things, on the other hand, are *contingent.*

To be contingent means that they can possibly not exist or be other than what they are.

Now contingent being requires a cause outside of itself because it needs a reason for existing rather than not existing.

That is why the universe requires God.

But God, as Pure Being Itself, has the reason for His existence within Himself.

He cannot not exist, so must necessarily exist, hence needs no outside cause.

His self-existence also explains His infinity, for what is Being purely and simply, has no limitations.

Good question. This is difficult for us humans to understand, but God has always been there. We don't have anything in this world to compare that too, but we just have to have faith. Look at it this way. If infinity (forward) has no end, then reverse that and that is how long God has been. Read the first chapter of Genesis. In the first verse God and Jesus (the Word) has always been there, (WE) or (US).

God has always existed, he has no creator. I know it's hard to understand. It's hard for me to put my mind around it too, but that's the point of faith. You just have to believe even though it doesn't make sense yet. We will know once we have passed from our physical bodies. It's only when we are remade in our spiritual bodies that we will understand those things that make no sense to us now.

I too wish things like that were easier to comprehend, but I just have faith, and know that I will understand someday.

I hope what I am saying makes sense at all. Even though I know only Christians and possibly a few other religious people would agree with me.

God is not created. He just is. That's why His name is "I AM". Jesus called Himself by this name, and people immediately took up stones to try to kill Him. But, He escaped because the time was not right. He was busy establishing the Church with the Apostles, and in particular, Peter, as the visible leaders of His Church. He promised that His Church would be visible to all nations like a city on a hill and that He would always be with His Church until He returns in glory. At that time, the current leader of His Church, the successor of Peter, will hand the keys of binding and loosing back over to Jesus.
