I'm not sure if I believe in God, but I do believe in Christian values.
If a Christian resents an act of kindness, I don't think they are much of a Christian.

Yes they do, its sort of like how the religious leaders resented Jesus when He sat and ate with the tax collectors and prostitutes. There will always be wolves in sheep's clothing. Many people who say they are christian don't take anything Jesus says or does very seriously.

It depends how you define "showing love."
If showing love to a non-believer comes in the form of acceptance of their life and beliefs without teaching the Gospel, that is false hope and they are doing some major damage!
If showing love is showing respect and trying to help them get saved, then that is good!

Hello a_delphic... :)
Great Question.. :)
I am sure you will find this in all beliefs..some Atheists, Hindus and Pagans here, have become good friends of mine..yet I find that some can be just as hateful, as my brothers and sisters in Christ.. :(
Jesus said, we are to Love our neighbors as ourselves..I do not worry about what others may think of me..for I know I have a righteous heart before my Lord..it is God whom I have to answer to, not men..
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

Yes, SOME Christians are that way, but it is in the Bible that we should love our neighbors as thyself. Our neighbors are all of the other people in the world, Canada is our neighbor to the North, Asia is our neighbor across the sea, the Moon is our neighbor in the universe, so you see we are all neighbors. God did not tell us to love one more than others, but to love equally.

yes. i'm sure some Christians do this. It's sometimes natural for them to do this, although it's not right for them to. God says to love everyone, believers && non-believers. Hope I helped!

why should I resent anyone showing love and affection to others? this makes me feel good as we are all mortals traveling the same path and sooner or later each of us will fulfill the destiny of our race.

I don't. Paul said that we should love the non-believers and be merciful towards them.
