Mav was gone for awhile and had almost 100 emails from different people wondering how she is doing.
Mav got emails from all sorts of people of all sorts of faiths and some of no faith.
Mav thinks all these people show agape love.
Do you think non-christians can show that kind of love?

Yes Mav--it is agape love for sure. I didn't email you because you had told me where you were going. I knew you'd be back and then you'd let us know how you are.

A non-christian could show agape love ....but what happened to Mav is not an example of it.
Agape love comes from the mind ....not heart.
Agape love has a purpose, an honorable purpose.
Was the purpose of every last one of those people honorable?

Agape love is "God-love", and here is the definition:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails...

So although you received many kind sentiments, that is not agape love. Agape love is shown long-term, not through a 1 minute e-mail. Agape love (in the entire definition above) can even be hard to show to your closest loved ones - most of the time we show most of that, but to always show all of those qualities isn't so common.

Agape love is pure love of the spiritual kind. It is totally nonsexual it was a love like this that Johnathan and David had in the bible, (don't believe the propaganda that they were gay).
