Why don't you study it for yourself before telling me I'm the anti Christ? All you do is prove that many atheists know far more about your religion than you do - so who's the uninformed here? Don't you think that to be a good steward of Jesus you should stop the shrill and know your facts?

Brooke, I sympathize. They can't handle historical fact - all they have is their one book, and they believe everything in it. So outside fact has no meaning. If the bible told them the sky was pink, they would look at it and say "what a pretty pink sky". If you told them it was blue, they would argue forever about how the bible says it's pink, so it's pink. They still refuse to accept that Hitler was a Christian, even though we've provided tons of evidence that he slaughtered the Jews due to his religious beliefs. Don't take it too personally - the christers don't like people messing with their world view.

I am a Christian, and I do not lean on "blind faith". I don't know what historical facts you are talking about, but I can also use historical fact to back up my beliefs. Are you saying there is some historical fact out there that proves there is no God or Jesus didn't exist? I've never heard that argument. In fact, historical fact almost proves that the Bible is true. Read The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel.

I personally do not care who is atheist and who isn't. The thing that rubs me is the fact that, our children these days do not know the Pledge Of Allegiance, nativity scenes are not allowed to be displayed in the court house lawn, our children cannot do prayer in school. I am not saying that all children should have to pray but, those who chose to, should be allowed. The word Christmas cannot be displayed in certain places.Atheist were not satisfied with just being recognized, they had to go and trash part of what this very country was built on.Of course to do what has been done has cost some people dearly even their lives. What is a life worth to you? God Bless You All

wow, I like this question. I just posed a question about how annoying it is for people to use yahoo anwers as a religious (or non-regilious) platform and was told I am a bad person who should support freedom of speech, the right to share beliefs ... I never meant to offend anyone but for some reason I was told that I dont know Jesus and people will pray for me.. that proved my point exactly. I hope you provoke a heated debate..

kudos!

I know...as Christians we should just turn the other cheek, right?
It's so darn frustrating when those Christian buggers actually fight back...
Atheists may know the history, and maybe even some of the philosophy...but it's highly doubtful if any of them knows what it means to have a relationship with God...it's rather difficult to have a relationship with an entity you don't know and refuse to acknowledge. So how can you possibly know more about my religion than I do? That's like saying you know my Father better than I do...

It only matters what us as individuals believe for what works in our own lives. We can only save ourselves by our own choosing and God's grace. If only we could all respect others beliefs reguardless. This person tries to prove and that person tires to prove and the only thing they prove is they only want to prove who is right. What do you get for it? A cookie or a reward, pat on back if you are right? or an "I told you so" na na na na na.
Tt is just ridiculous. Let all believe what they want and respectfully. Soemday we will all know the truth anyways without anyone proving a darn thing.

Honey, if you ever need a religion, check out Asatru. We are totally into the facts and figures. You won't find a stupid one anywhere around us!

Christians, however, tend to lean on 'blind faith' rather than anything else. It's a sorry day when that's all they have to go on!

Watch out. You're giving them a reason to claim we unbelievers know Darwin's theory and biology, and anthropology by heart. Nobody needs to know anything by heart. We all know where to go to, if we want to back up our assertions. That's why books are there. For you not to have to memorise anything.

its just because religion is personal. its a person's beliefs, values, and what they base their lives around. so whenever you get into a religious argument or debate you're basically saying the other person is wrong and so is their religion. its a very personal issue.

I even have yet to stumble upon any atheist who could desire to modern not undemanding evidence against my faith. I even have, by making use of ways, examine the two "the top of religion" and "Letter to a Christian united states" by making use of Sam Harris, besides as "The God delusion" by making use of Richard Dawkins. the two are fantastically sturdy--Dawkins lots the extra valuable, in actuality--at making the case for his or her very own disbelief, yet that's a walkover; there is not something intellectually unsound approximately being an atheist. of direction, which potential the two are ok at dissecting stupid arguments claiming to "instruct" Christian ideals, too. the two are additionally sturdy at pointing out events by making use of Christians, the two previous and modern, that are reprehensible. despite the fact that, whilst they attempt to disprove Christianity, they bypass away sturdy floor fantastically rapidly. Their arguments are usually based in lack of awareness, or stereotypes. (Harris even demands that we Christians all adjust to his stereotypes; he needs us all to alter our ideals to cause them to extra straightforward objectives.) from time to time, they even furnish arguments which that they had recognize themselves as undesirable, have been it not for his or her very own confirmation bias. i will fortuitously learn the paintings of others in comparable serious style--with the only proviso that i'm unwilling to waste my time ending something i've got been in a position to p.c. out as drivel with a quick perusal.
