"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who standeth for the children of thy people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time. And at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one who shall be found written in the book." Daniel 12:1

Jesus foretold this time also at Mark 13:19--"For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be."

It's seems like when you don't ask a christian related question you get a lot of negative answers or even worse your question gets removed. So should christians just have their own section to fix this problem...

comfort me if I was in pain or would you laugh at my distress? Would it matter if I was a Christian or not?

If this person was friendly with you and you liked them a lot and they wanted you to visit their church, say for Christmas or Easter services, would you go as a gesture of friendship?

Okay I actually have two questions.

1) Matthew 11:28-29 says Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

*I really like this verse but I think I'd like it even more if I could remember what my pastor said about the word yoke. What does it mean?

2) I want to start memorizing more scripture but I don't know where to start. I want to memorize things that I could recall in times of trouble, etc. but I don't know which ones that would be. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Also who are the ones doing the most persecuting?

I saw an answer by a Christian saying they are the only ones persecuted here - he must only read a few questions -- and all the rest let do what they want.

Atheists - half their questions get deleted any more no matter what the content.

Muslims - the posters seem quite nice but there are a lot of questions attacking them

Pagans - even a simple question from one Pagan to another gets several jumping in and saying they are of Satan or read the Bible and what they beleive is nonsense.

Satanists - are they even allowed on here anymore? They had some very good questions and answers and I havent seem much anymore.

I've even see questions and answers attacking Buddhism and Hindus and they are about the most peaceful religions.

In what verse did Jesus tell you your faith is about politics? If anything, he was quite suspicious of the Roman government.

If I was a slick politician, all I would have to do is appeal to the majority belief by MOUTHING THE WORDS, and I could get elected to a lucrative position in government. Would I be sincere? Who knows? Nobody can look inside the heart. Either way, of course, a few hundred grand a year should sooth my conscience.

Excuse my harshness, but you have to be very slow not to pick up on this.

Now that I know what I thought was right and true about justification, thankyou for your answers. I need to ask about this pastor that came to my work.

My husband and I are preaching at a new church for the first time on Sunday and I was asking two friends and co workers if they would like to attend?

One man said, oh I never get up before noon on Sunday. I replied, well it's a good thing that Jesus didn't say that on ressurection sunday!

This pastor, who was a customer overheard me and said, keep talking like that and they will never go to church, that is justification.

"We don't preach that at our church"

my question does that make sense to you?

Where in the Bible does it talk about the Fath, Son, and Holy Spirit as being one. I'm trying to find some references. Thank you.

Why did the Prophet Mohammed tell his followers that if you "mingle your affairs with theirs then they are your brothers"? Now Mohammed's followers -Islam- seemed to have substituted the word kill for mingle and the word infidel for brothers? It sounds funny in English, but in the translation the words seem interchangable and it makes sense. Bottom line: What God who claims to be a loving God wants his children and followers to act as demons and destroy instead of create? I am NOT bashing here, merely wondering. Do Not answer unless you have something constructive and sane to say with peace and love at the core of your response. Thank you.

Yeah... that whole thing about god making man in his own image.... Just what is that supposed to mean?

Afterall... it can't be on the basis of appearance, unless god has a nose, a mouth, two eyes, two arms and legs.... etc.... We are visible and god isn't....
It can't be on the basis of perfection nor absolute benevolance, nor forgiveness... because we as humans don't show any of those traits. We're metaphysically short-sighted, aggressive, selfish etc.
We cannot create things ex nihilo... so that can't be it... though we do seem to break things down into their component forms quite often.
Its certainly not a matter of position if we're all supposed to be grovelling before the G-dude.... We even operate under different rules, since its a good thing when god destroys, but its totally wrong for us.

So basically.... if we are neither like god in form nor function.... and effectively have nothing at all in common with 'him', then how are we in his image?
