is a man without faith braver than a man with faith.

the question is not are both men brave. no. that is a terribly...very very VERY boring and dull answer dont you tihnk? so unsatisfying for me.

dont answer with "they are both brave" because that is not in question. yes, they are both brave men.

if one man who is a christian and believes that when he dies he is going to heaven throws himself on a grenade to save his friends. and another man who is an atheist throws himself on a grenade to save his friends but believes he is giving away the only life he will ever have. is the atheist braver than the christian?

i think yes, he is. because it takes a hell of a lot more bravery to give away youre only life than to take the expressway to an eternity in heaven.

they have those big doe-y eyes, ruby red lips, baby soft skin, and hair like spun sunshine. They're everything beautiful in a woman, yet more pure, more fragile, and delicate. Is it so wrong for a man to love them? How can it be gay? Even little boys are so feminine, pretty, like a little porcelain angel, sent down to earth to show us what true beauty is. Guys, you've all felt it right?

It seems it once did mean: to teach Christ-ianity, with Christ thereof being the end of the law: Romans 10:4, the Saviour of the world: John 4:42. But lately it seems to be hijacked by and associated with unthinking neo-fund-amentalists who law impute sin and death for the hell of it, not to mention for the money.

Does anyone have info on the meaning of Evangelical, besides what those who now call themselves Evangelicals represent?

I have asked a similar question before and I loved the responses. I am looking for more input from intelligent minds, Atheistic and Xtian alike.

Most, if not all, Xtians will agree that God is an omniscient being. This means that He knows all from the beginning of time until the end. Agreed?

Therefore he knows if you are getting into "heaven" or "hell" already.

"Pardon me! Did I break your concentration" - Pulp Fiction

Doesn't this irk you? It should if you are a thinking Xtian. It should p*ss you right off.

This means living your life is defined because your future is already set by God, and was well before you were conceived. So technically, you have no control over your life, and your life will be lead the way God already planned it.

So if you go to heaven, or hell, it was Gods choice eon's ago, and cannot be changed; no matter how you live today, tommorrow, or next year.

Your thoughts please? How does that make you feel? Any counter-arguments?

If they do not believe in gift giving then why does my neighbor (who continually puts Jehovah witnesses literature on my door) wear a huge diamond ring on her wedding ring finger? Obviously she did not buy if for herself, and you would think that it is putting emphasis on something other than Jehovah right? I am interested in what other people think about this.

Churches in Missouri were posting anti stem cell signs and sending out fliers, and having prayers to stop this admendment. It passed. A liberal Democrate just took the Senate. Minimum wage increase passed. Looks like your prayers were not answered. IS jesus really a Liberal or is it that he did not want his church to be a place of politics?

I know Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah but what about as a prophet?

Please explain how your religions view Jesus and his teachings.

Every Tom, Dick and Harry, and even George, has become an expert on the False Biblical Quran and do not realise that Quran is not open to interpretation but Quran opens only to those who Allah Guides to Islam.

Christians and Muslims see a Jesus and a Christian community and a Jewish community in the Quran when the Quran never mentioned Jesus or Jews or Christians, and the blind continue to SEE these characters in their false Quran and would not use their intelligence to SEEK the truth but are led or misled by their noses by the fake sheikhs and quack doctors of Islamic theology.

Is Islam a Church or have they created their own Churches of Sunni and Shia Protestantism?

Are they Muslims-for-Jesus?

Is not there a Muslim Monastery operating on the internet to keep Jesus in their Islamic Church?

Are they Mufties or Popes?

Abrakedabra Muslim Theologians?

Firefighters, passengers that prevented more murder, etc...

Conversely, if a terrorist "realised" Jesus was Lord a moment before crashing, are they in heaven?

I think this points out how out of touch Christianity has become that some would say, yes.

I just posted the Iraq comments and the consequences of leaving, would it be possilbe to get some responces that are a little less retarded? The whole, "Bush really got to you" and the "crawl back under a rock" comments, come on, the least you could do is exist with an open mind. I swear, the land that was once known for allowing you to speak your mind seems to be gone. I mean you cant voice your opinion unless ofcourse you have the same opinion as everyone else.
If your beliefs are in anyway different people want to burn you at the steak (sorry for any spelling error). Jesus Christ, people I thought we were supposed to be a land of tolerance and rights to speak freely?

There has been such a hypocracy here. There are people of all faiths getting suspended and the only thing I can think of is that there are people out there who watch, read and report.
Let's get real, most people know one another a little bit here, and let's be honest, most of us are here for entertainment.
I find most people here whether entertaining in some way. Either they are arguing or laughing or in a few cases, just spreading the love.
Why report if there isn't real reason to? Report those who are a real danger, not the ones who aren't hurting anyone!

Jesus is either the biggest liar and mad man who ever lived or he was what he says he was, "the Son of God."

He cannot be both. He cannot be JUST a good guy, or an enlightened being like Mother Theresa, Ghandi or Buddah.

Can you imagine the 80 year old Grandma on her death bed crying for Jesus to take her away? Can you imagine the soldier in the foxholes in the Middle East praying to Jesus for safety?

Jesus was either the most crazy, evil, liar that ever lived or he WAS the Son of God. What's your opinion/decision?

Matthew 22:37-38 it says -
You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.

Here in the real world we can see that intelligence is a product of growth and learning and development. It's a measure of how well we apply what we have learned from the past to situations we are dealing with in the present. Even if you don't accept that human intelligence is the result of 4 billion years or so of evolution, it's still clearly the case that a new born baby is pretty clueless, and only becomes intelligent over the years by learning from experience.

Theists assert that an intelligent god exists, fully formed, from nothing, with no history, no growth, no learning from experience, no development of any sort. I would like to hear someone explain the nature of that intelligence such that it can exist without experience and without even the passage of time. What does intelligence mean, if not the ability to apply what we've learned from experience, and thus requiring development and the passing of time?

All intelligent answers welcome! ;-)
