This happens, I have noticed, with a lot of different religions.

People have some false knowledge on what your beliefs are when they actually have NO CLUE what they are talking about because they don't know a lot about your faith. They just know what they "heard" from someone else who has no clue either. Then they bash you with this "knowledge." If you tell them that they aren't right on what you believe, they say you're wrong. *laugh* How could someone who isn't a member of your faith possibly know more than someone who is. Then when you try to tell them what is the truth about what you believe to clear up any misconception, they tell you they don't want to hear anything from you. I have seen this often of my faith as well as have seen others talk about it happening with their faiths. What are your takes on this. Please helpful answers from people, not demeaning ones. What inspired me to ask this today was reading a question about why people spread rumors about Catholics.

Hearing other points of view, and contradictions in the Bible upsets them so much. Science and statistics seems to annoy Christians also.

(No offense to non-christians but I know what you gonna say please if you are not one, I respect your beliefs but please don't answer this. Thanks)
How long did it take you to find your true love? and how did you become so sure that he/she is the right one God has chosen for you?
I always tend to ask girls and then I think what if she is not the one God has for me?
Please any experiences?

Deut. 21:18-21 "If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son ... Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city ... And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die..."

My question is two-fold. If *this* doesn't apply, but all the bits about homosexuality apply - WHY or WHY NOT?

Also, what size rocks should we use?

"While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day ... And The Lord said to Moses, "The man shall be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp." (Numbers 15:32,35 RSV)

so i say again why is this completely contradictory to the commandments. and for the people who say the bible is truth why arent you stoning these people?

Why do some call them cultist when they don't ask that you do anything but seek truth where it lays, not even asking for a donation.

I know he got suspended, but why? Did he offend someone, or was it false reporting, or what? All he ever did was ask clever and thought-provoking questions. What question would he ask to get suspended? The R&S section isn't the same without him.

Genesis 7:20 indicates that the waters of the Biblical flod rose so high that they covered all the mountains. That means that the ark was at an elevation equal to or greater than the higherst mountain-tops.

Now, when people climb Mount Everest, they wear high-tech thermal gear and carry oxygen tanks. Even so anyone who makes an ascent returns the same day or probably dies. It's not because snow and hiking wears them out! It's because at that elevation, there is simply not enough atmosphere to retain heat or to breathe.

Noah, on the other hand, was at that elevation for 150 days (Genesis 7:24)! How is this even possible? Was the ark air-tight and equipped with enough oxygen for himself and all the animals? They can't even burn things to keep warm or it will make their oxygen problem far, far worse! Even if Noah was endowed with an almost superhuman respiratory ability, what about the multitude of animals?

I asked my parents but they had no answers..I mean my step mom is as anti-religious as you can get I think.. shes a philosophy professor..my dad is a non-religious Jew and he really isn't interested in religion at all..and since they don't know where he is maybe you will? Some Christians are targeting all non-Christians with false reports, stating the a question is "chatting," etc. These Christians habitually are "bearing false witness against they neighbor."
