Is it an accordance to your faith to believe in evolution? Or is it just that all the Jews who practice Judaism who I know are in the wrong...? I'm just wondering....

( I'm half Jew but I'm atheist I do celebrate some of the religious holidays though just to make my grandpa happy,...)

Consider this an auxiliary question to "Did Jesus or Muhammad ever exist?".

When I asked about the horrible things in the world, people said it was due to Adam's sin. Then I asked about how we can say God's beauty is in it. We and the whole world are all about decay. The world's earthquakes, volcanos, bacteria, viruses, cold weather, heat waves all kill people. Bodies are so vulnerable and have massive defenses to protect itself from the threats of the world - skin, skeletal system, immune system, brain/blood barrier, etc. Everything in it is bound to die - plants, animals, etc. The beauty of the sunrise belies the fact that it will end and we're dependent on it. Comments?

My Son in law's, Dad was put on the resperator today. He is only 50, but has been in bad health and had major surgery three weeks ago. Sunday morning he was sent back to the hospital and has been in a coma. My son in law and my Grandson, will be devasted if and when they lose him. He does have another son and grandson. I guess I am asking that you will pray that God's will be done and for his wife and family. My grandson is only 5. His Papa's name is Danny. Aaron is my grandson.
I guess I am rambling, I really don't know what else to do, except ask for your strength and prayers.

I mean truthfully, honestly without cutting corners, or trying to make an extra buck?

Now, are these sins of a business cheats customers and clients? Will they have to answer to God for this?

My question was about marleyann... b and asked if she was a serious Muslim because I did not realize Muslim answers could be as spiteful as a Christians! I guess that the tendency to report confirms that she is! her answer was;
Even though I'm not a Christian, but Muslim, I do think that was absolutely horrific and May Allah send you to hell forever!! I do believe that many a Christians are true believers and that there are many good priests doing terrific work for Allah...

and I still don't see a hijab on that avatar!

I have seen a lot of Christians pointing fingers at certain groups on this site, and in particular at those Christian sects which interpret things a little differently than most Christians do. I have seen them say things like "_______ are not Christians because they do not fit the Biblical definition of Christians." I always thought a Christian was someone who believed in Jesus Christ as the Savior of mankind, or accepted the New Testament as fact. Apparently, for some people, that is not enough to classify someone as a Christian.

So, I just wanted to know, what IS the Biblical definition of "Christians"? Please provide any Biblical references to support your answers. Thank you.

It was stated that a true Christian would not believe in Evolution, and yet so far there are people who are Christian who say that they actually do believe in Evolution.

Whats wrong with Mere Modern Christianity that some people whose name isn't Jesus think they can set the standard for what is a Christian?

Please discuss your views on this question

Quran 086.005 YUSUFALI: Now let man but think from what he is created! 6. He is created from a drop emitted-; 7. Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs:

So, for this claim to be true, there must be some "drop" or liquid capable of creating humans, which is emitted or shot-forth, from between the backbone and ribs.

While there several things still unknown to science, the structure of human anatomy is not one. Its a matter of fact, there is no sperm or any liquid capable of creating humans, which shots from between the back and ribs, or is even existing between the back and ribs.

Dr. Hussein Labib "In all the available translations of the Quran we see that it is being said that man is created from a drop gushing forth between from between the RIBS AND THE BACKBONE.Well I being a doctor can say that this scientifically incorrect." http://experts.about.com/q/Islam-947/Ribs-Backbone.htm

I am a new believer in Christ and I wonder which Bible I should use as a new convert. I came across quite a few versions and as I am not familiar I would appreciate if anyone out there can come with some good advice. Also, there are a lot of texts, etc. in the Bible that I am not familiar with - things like 1 Peter ... 2 Peter or
1 John ... 2 John .... or 3 John ... Are they referring to the same Peter/John or another Peter/John. Will be helpful if someone can enlighten me on this. Also right now, I've got this old Bible (hands-me-down). It is called the Holy Bible - New International Version containing the Old Testament and the New Testament. Is this the correct book for me? Also, somebody recommended me Good News Bible. I haven't heard of this - checked with a few Bible Book Stores but was not successful. Please help!!

My in-laws (to-be) are Mormon, and recently my fiancé's sister's hubby was diagnosed with a staff infection. The doctors are saying that unless they're able to do something soon, they may have to amputate his leg. My fiancé's mom called early this morning asking for prayer and fasting. Because she knows I'm Pagan, she also requested that I do "whatever it is I do" to help. I'm very close with my in-laws, so I’m fasting for 24 hours along with them.

Although it is not something my religion entails, it's not me I'm doing it for; it's for my brother - and my sister, and their family. So I imagine that (in addition to some health spells) the least I can do is offer my best shot, and I know that they'll appreciate it.

My question is, what does fasting have to do with anything? It seems illogical to me to deny one's body necessary nourishment to help a loved one (in this manner, anyway). I'm doing well so far, but perhaps understanding its significance better would help.

Of course I pray, of course I study, and yes I make an effort to include God in my life. But sometimes I feel like I've reached a glass ceiling and my progress isn't going so fast. What am I missing.
