The following is from an excellent, very technical web site on evolution.
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/comdesc/section5.html
Here is the one area that I can find no data for.
"Once the genetic material was elucidated, it was obvious that for macroevolution to proceed vast amounts of change was necessary in the genetic material. If the general observation of geneticists was that of genomic stasis and recalcitrance to significant genetic change, it would be weighty evidence against the probability of macroevolution. For instance, it is possible that whenever we introduce mutations into an organism's genome, the DNA could back-mutate to its former state. However, the opposite is the case—the genome is incredibly plastic, and genetic change is heritable and essentially irreversible (Lewin 1999). "
"Once the genetic material was elucidated". How was it elucidated? Certainly, once you have a deck of cards, you can deal them out in many ways. But, where did the deck of cards come from?
This article corrects notes that "Macro Evolution" does not address the origins of life, nor does "natural selection" play a fundamental role.
There are 2 great unanswered questions in the biology of life:
1. How did life originate?
2. How did we acquire so much new and unique genetic information, such that new species were created, or new functions came into existence (eyes, lungs, heart, skin, etc.)
As we await the answer, a creator seems to make more sense for many of us. There may never be an answer to those questions. The lack of an answer does not prove God exists, only that there is room to believe He does exist. It is a choice.

Again, you ask the same thing. The Bible is against evolution. And if a person is a true Christian, they believe the Bible is the word of God. so, if someone says they are Christian and tell you they believe in evolution, then they are lying about being Christian, or so fully deceived that they dont have a clue. This is like saying I believe in voting, but dont believe in politics. Or saying I am a athiest, but I believe in God. oxy morons. yep.
cant mix light with darkness. doesnt work. What exactly is mere Christianity. One is either Christian or not. It means to be a follower of Jesus. You cant do that and not believe in the Bible. And, we Christians dont set the standards for Christianity. God alone does that, and you either follow and are Christian, or you dont and you arent. That simple.
How can one clalm to be Mormon but not believe in the book or mormon. gimmme a break. enough on this one, move on.
Evolution canat be proved, its only opinion from false science.
There has been much evidence of Creation over the years. Do you read the newspaper or listen to the news. Besides, watching the miracles of God, you know He is real, and therefore you believe His word.
Let this kick in for you , and you will be a happier person not fixated on this one thing. God bless you Darwin. Did you know that Darwin actually admitted he was wrong about evolution before he died?? Oh yeah... and there is so much proof agaisnt evolution that it would make you dizzy just thinking about it. God bless you and May He give you truth. He will if you stop fighting it.

There is much evidence proving the theory of evolution to be a fact and very little to the contrary. The basis of science is to allow the evidence to prove or disprove the theory, religion claims the theory as fact without evidence. There is more than enough evidence to claim evolution is a scientific law. What is in question is the origin of all species. This is where theory(ies) must be employed and until one can be proven, all must be considered feasable. The lack of evidence concerning our initial creation does not negate the fact that evolution has occurred....and continues to occur within all forms of life on earth. Could it be that "God" is simply the metaphor which mankind, unable to explain in any other terms, has placed on a natural occurrence?

Both the support for evolution and the and the "Biblical" evidence against it are based on misunderstandings and insisting upon timelines no one can swear to. Many people use geneologies to try to estimate that Adam must have been born no more than 15000 years ago, and carbon dating is based on the belief that we understand the decay of radioactive particles well enough over thousands of years to decide how old something is. I have no faith in geneologies or carbon.
The gaps in the fossil record seem to occur at certain places. It is tough to find animals that demonstrate changing from a water-based animal to a land based animal--incredible changes would have to take place!
God said he created fish, birds, whales, beasts, cattle, creeping things, and man and woman. Would it be wrong to think He made one or two sets of each kind and let them be fruitful, multiply, and evolve into the wonderful world full of a variety of animals we have now? There is evidence that evolution takes place on a micro-level (we see adaptations change populations), but deciding everything came from a single celled organism takes a bigger leap of faith than the one I took in believing in God.

You can be Christian and believe in Evolution. God could've done it that way. But it's what he said he did. God said he created the world in 6 literal, 24-hour days, and I believe it. Plus, a scientific law states you can only go from order to disorder. True, you may be born with an extra limb or something, but that's no new genetic information. It's a copy of something your DNA already had.

Why? Because as a christian I believe in God's creation! That's like asking those who believe in The Theory of Evolution why can't they/you believe in God's Creation? Same thing. So Instead of asking Christians your question, ask evolutionist the opposite question in the creationist faith! to see the opposite view. Just the same type of thing.

True Christianity is the politically correct name for people who follow the bible strictly word by word with strict literal meanings. Ironically, they are usually republicans, who support a loose interpretations of the Constitution. And why they can't believe in evolutions is for the same reason why Catholics in the 18th century couldn't believe that the sun was the center of the solar system.

I would say that a Christian cannot consistently believe in the Bible and yet believe in evolution. Creation and evolution are opposites. One would have to fudge up the teachings of either one or both ideas to try to hold them both.

True Christianity is when you by faith accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
The reason I would never agree with evolution theory's is simple, the Bible tells us how God created the world and He did not use evolution.
You either believe the Bible or not, I believe.

Hello, Jim. I disagree with those people completely. I am a born-again, living for God, serving God, church-attending (that's a new thing, actually, lol) Christian, and I believe that SOME portions of evolution are correct.
Please see my answer to your question about evolution. I explain my beliefs there.
