Aparently something because this happened to me.

Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.

While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.

Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.

I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.

I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.

I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.

Your brother don

Well, if you're a Bible reader, you can look up these scriptures.

Ecclesiastes 9:5,10
Psalms 146:4
Genesis 2:7
Genesis 3:19
Ezekiel 18:4

Consider what Jesus himself said regarding Lazarus' death. Jesus told his disciples: “Lazarus our friend has gone to rest.” The disciples thought that Jesus meant that Lazarus was resting in sleep, recovering from an illness. They were wrong. Jesus explained: “Lazarus has died.” (John 11:11-14) Notice that Jesus compared death to rest and sleep. Lazarus was neither in heaven nor in a burning hell. He was not meeting angels or ancestors. Lazarus was not being reborn as another human. He was at rest in death, as though in a deep sleep without dreams.

The life we enjoy is like the flame of a candle. When the flame is put out, it does not go anywhere. It is simply gone.

Some believe that nothing happens, we simply cease to be. All that remains is what's left after decomposition. No soul, no energy, just entropy.

Some believe that there is a choice of Hell, or eternal punishment that results from not having accepted the atonement of Jesus; or Heaven, where one will spend eternity in worship of Jesus and his father.

Some believe in Nirvana, or Valhalla, or any number of other possibilities.

I believe that for a time, we go to a place of rest and reflection, called the Summerland. After that, we return to life, here or elsewhere, and proceed to learn whatever lessons are next in our development.

There are many beliefs, some believe theirs to be correct at the discredit of others. In any case, we'll either find out when we die, or we'll simply die. No-one knows for certain (even if they believe so).

For all who have died since Christ's Sacrifice, and for all who will yet end their mortal existance befor Christ calls out The Church, their souls sleep untill called up. The first to be called will be those of The Church who will return to Heaven with Christ. Then at the end of this earth all that remain asleep will be called to the judgment of the lost.

There will be those who will come to God through Christ Jesus during the time called The Tribulation, which is a time after the calling out of The Church. Those Tribulation saved will also be called to heaven... All others, those who have rejected Christ's Lordship, will be consigned to hell at the last judgment.

Genesis 2:7 states: "And Jehovah God proceeded to form man out of the dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul." So when man died, he return to the ground, for dust he is and to dust he shall return.--Gen.3:19 At Ecclesiastes 9:5 explains the dead are unconscious, their thoughts have perished.

WHAT JESUS SAID ABOUT DEATH

Jesus Christ spoke about the condition of the dead. He did so with regard to Lazarus, a man whom he knew well and who had died. Other scriptures also compare death to sleep. For example, when the disciple Stephen was stoned to death, the Bible says that he “fell asleep.” (Acts 7:60) Similarly, the apostle Paul wrote about some in his day who had “fallen asleep” in death. 1 Corinthians 15:6.

The Bible teaches that the dead “are conscious of nothing at all.” They are not alive and have no conscious existence anywhere. The account of Lazarus confirms this. Upon returning to life, did Lazarus thrill people with descriptions of heaven? Or did he terrify them with horrible tales about a burning hell? No. The Bible contains no such words from Lazarus. During the four days that he was dead, he had been “conscious of nothing at all.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Lazarus had simply been sleeping in death. John 11:11.
The account of Lazarus also teaches us that the resurrection is a reality, not a mere myth. Jesus raised Lazarus in front of a crowd of eyewitnesses. Even the religious leaders, who hated Jesus, did not deny this miracle.

Think about this too: If Lazarus had been in heaven for those four days, would he not have said something about it?— And if he had been in heaven, would Jesus have made him come back to earth from that wonderful place? Of course not!

Yet, many people say that we have a soul, and they say that the soul lives on after the body dies. They say that Lazarus’ soul was alive somewhere. But the Bible does not say that. It says that God made the first man Adam “a living soul.” Gen. 2:7, Adam was a soul. The Bible also says that when Adam sinned, he died. He became a “dead soul,” and he returned to the dust from which he had been made. The Bible also says that all Adam’s offspring inherited sin and death too.

The Scriptural teaching of the resurrection, however, is not compatible with the doctrine of the immortality of the soul. If an immortal soul survived death, no one would need to be resurrected, or brought back to life. Indeed, Martha expressed no thought about an immortal soul that was living on elsewhere after death. She did not believe that Lazarus had already gone to some spirit realm to continue his existence. On the contrary, she showed her faith in God’s purpose to reverse the effects of death. She said: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” (John 11:23, 24) Likewise, Lazarus himself related no experiences of some afterlife. There was nothing to report.

Clearly, according to the Bible, the soul dies and the remedy for death is the resurrection. You enjoy the best sleep ever, until Jesus resurrects you, sometime in the future.

Depends are you conscious that you died or not? If not you will be in your own hell reliving those last moments. If you are aware that you have left this life than you wait to account your life and wait to reincarnate. This is where that eye for an eye tooth for a tooth comes in. You will than lead a life next time around depending on your spiritual growth. Peace and love be with you.

The spirit goes out and the soul dies. We are living souls. The soul is in the blood. The dead know nothing at all. The dead are as those in a deep sleep awaiting the Call to Resurrection for a perfect life in a perfect world after Armageddon. It is so simple, yet so difficult for blinded ones to see.

Do you really want to know?

It all depends. If you have put your trust in Jesus for your salvation and received God's Holy Spirit then you have become a member of God's family and will go to be with Jesus in paradise.

Luke 23:38 There was also an inscription over him, "This is the King of the Jews." 39 One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong." 42 And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." 43 And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

If not, then you will go to the place of the dead and be tormented until it's time for the resurrection of the damned where you will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Revelation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

That's why it's important to turn to Jesus before it's too late.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
