It is reported in Matthew's Gospel that Jesus said that all authority was given to him in heaven and earth (cf. Mat. 28:18), which means that someone else gave it to him. That someone else must be greater than Jesus, which means that Jesus cannot be God. After all, how can God be given all authority when he already has it to begin with?

Did I have an option not to choose to make an entrance into this world? If we had such an option and it represented one's frewill what would the majority of us had said?

1John
1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
[2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
[3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Rev.
13] And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
[14] For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Im not a religous person at all. I was growing up when i was oblivious to the world ,but anyway i just hate the thought of eternity. I rather just cease to exist when i die and nothing more. Eternity is forever and ever and ever...just thinking about it scares me

I was raised Catholic but left the church at 15 after moving to a new, larger town where I didn't feel comfortable and welcomed in a congregation where I didn't know anyone. I was also beginning to have new ideas about things like abortion (pro-choice) and homosexuality (whatever floats your boat), and felt it was dishonest to belong to the Church when I felt this way.

I still feel the same way about abortion and homosexuality but feel a desire to belong to the Church again. Who else out there has dealt with the same issues? How did you reconcile your faith with what seems right and fair to you?

Also, I've been going back to church a bit but don't feel right taking communion. I enjoy the ritual and the comfort of the mass, but don't quite feel as comfortable as I would like. Has anyone read any books that might help me in this journey? Or just any suggestions?

Our 6 year old daughter was saying something very strange one night. Is it biblical?
It was about 3:00am and my wife and I awoke to our daughters voice. She was standing at the foot of our bed saying very strange things while sleep walking. We both heard her say
"Mother, I saw someone casting out devils in your name, he did not follow us" She kept saying that to my wife. When we grabbed her we realised she was sleep walking and had deeply scratched her arms. Does doesnt remember any of it and says she has never heard that statement before. Has anyone ever heard of this? any help would be appreciated.
p.s we are not religous and dont go to church

Over 90% of suicide victims show mental and emotional signs of depression, while over 60% have severe clinical depression. For those of you who clain suicide is a sin, have you ever been diagnosed with clinical depression. Have you had thoughts that were not yours, have you felt your body literally eating itself away while you are still alive. Do you know a single things about what happens to the brain when a person develops clinical depression?

No, I fear that most of those who this thread applys to would answer no to the majority of these questions. In fact, most of those reading this are not in situations where severe clinical depression could be developed.

Try being born to abusive meth addict parents, having extremely severe stage V acne over 80% of your face that leaves severe scarring in its wake. Most of you have no idea how dark a life can really turn, but yet you still judge those who have faced more than you will ever face.

GLBT section? Lots of sinners there I hear. How about Gov. & Pol.? The devil actually posts there regularly. If you are not welcome anywhere else, you can hang with me in the Pets section. I'm sure the Pets folks won't mind---they're not judgemental you know.
