If God is good, then where does evil come from?

Evil doesn't come from anywhere, as it does not exist as a material thing, just as darkness does not exist as a material thing. Darkness is merely the lack of the presence of light, and evil is the lack of the presence of God and his goodness.

From the christian stand point, evil is the absence of godliness and is helped by Satan and his fellow demons.
Evil stems from God giving the choice whether or not to follow Him. People ask "if God is good why does he create evil things?". God didn't create evil he simply gave us the choice whether not to follow Him.

AS you really mean the Self Made One. THE Creator of ALL THINGS.The Ancient of Days,Yahweh, Yahweh&Jahovah.
Most evil comes from Mankind as we have forgotten where we came from after our souls entered into the Physical forms that the Creator had made and became stuck in them as they enjoyed the sensations to much .
The Creator made SATANS soul at the same time as the rest of the souls were made form Its own body.
The creator just asssigned roles for some souls to play to keep us on our toes so we wouldn't stop advancing . but would have a goad to try and keep us moving back up the ladder until we can remember again and rejoin the Creator.

Theoretically speaking, if God is the source of all life, then the evil one, Satan? would be the opposite of life, an antilife-force that can only survive by feeding on the life-force of other created beings in the universe. Human who has been tempted by devil is very dangerous. .
He/she can kill others,cheating,insulting,attacking and other bad things.Devil influences human for doing something bad for all of us.They invite us to choose a wrong path and have sins.The devils/satans can not be seen by our eyes but they cruelly influence our heart and mind. for bad doings.Human with a strong faith to Allah the only one God can not be tempted by devils/satans.By reading some verses of holy Qur'an devils will go away .They are afraid of holy Qur'an reciting especially the last surah 114 An Naas (human). .
