It is reported in Matthew's Gospel that Jesus said that all authority was given to him in heaven and earth (cf. Mat. 28:18), which means that someone else gave it to him. That someone else must be greater than Jesus, which means that Jesus cannot be God. After all, how can God be given all authority when he already has it to begin with?

If he was the son of god, why do we need God and his son that we think he is also God and in fact is telling us in the bible that we shouldn't be fooled and that he has no power and all the power is given to him.

And if all the philosophical justifications that the christians could come up with are true. Why God want to make it so hard for us to even understand his source of power. I am 30 years old and i have problems making things together in the bible, how about an 8 year old, a 12, a 16. How do you explain it to them. Isn't religion suppose to be easy to undestand no matter what age, sex or your level of education? Or am i SUPPOSE TO TAKE IT THE WAY IT IS, NO QUESTIONS ASKED?

God is the ultimate judge and refuge for all, and He does not call upon nor pray to any others. But Jesus acknowledged that there was One whom he worshipped and to Whom he prayed when he said, "I ascend unto my Father and your Father, and to my God and your God." (John 20:17). He is also reported to have cried out while on the cross, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" (Matt. 27:46). If Jesus were God, then couldn't this be read, "Myself, myself, why hast thou forsaken me?". Would that not be pure nonsense? When Jesus prayed the Lord's Prayer (Luke 11:2-4), was he praying to himself? When in the garden of Gethsemane he prayed, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will but as thou wilt." (Matt. 26:36). Was Jesus praying to himself? That Jesus, of his own admission and by his own actions, acknowledged, worshipped, and prayed to another being as God is clear proof that Jesus himself is not God.

John 10:30-33
[Jesus said] "The Father and I are one."

The Jews again picked up rocks to stone him. Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from my Father. For which of these are you trying to stone me?"

The Jews answered him, "We are not stoning you for a good work but for blasphemy. You, a man, are making yourself God."

Exodus 3:13-14
"But," said Moses to God, "when I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' if they ask me, 'What is his name?' what am I to tell them?" God replied, "I am who am." Then he added, "This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you."

John 8:24
That is why I told you that you will die in your sins.
For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins.

God the Father has the greatest authority. God sits in the center and Jesus sits at his side. Yet Jesus says before Abraham was he was. Basically Jesus is 100% man and 100% God. Jesus did not have all authority when he took the place of a man on Earth. He became a lowly human and gave it all up so that we can be saved. Now that is true love.

It also states in John that Jesus was in the beginning with God and Jesus was God.( not as the JW cult says a god )
You don't understand that there is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and that these three are one God.

First thing first, don't believe everything you read. Because it opens up a Pandora's box of interpretations. I believe what Jesus was trying to say, just like many believers before Him and after Him, was that he became transposed as the "Power of Wisdom" as an aid to Mankind. Jesus, if I may borrow a newer terminology, became a portal of information to be passed on to those who choose to listen to His teachings. If, "God" is an Entity and a Force within all of us then how does "he" communicate with us in a physical, flesh and blood form as opposed to just "voices" within our own thoughts? Kinda hard to differentiate isn't it? Therefore, thank the Heavens for "people" like Jesus to grace us with His presence or we would be forever "drugged" by the "local powers at be" from gaining the true insight of His messages and guidance throughout time.

Hope this perspective helps. When in doubt, be quiet and trust your "own" thoughts and feelings and let the "Forces" guide you properly and understand that "they" are there to help guide and not hurt.

Sincerely,
BS from Canada
